Heather Fidelitas Storm

"When next we meet, it shall be at the gallows!"

BACKSTORY

Heather once lived in a cozy little mining village named Titan Rock, wanting nothing to do with the miner's life.  When tragedy overtook the village, Heather found herself in the capital of the kingdom of Moonbrooke.  There, she quickly took to the life of a knight, believing them to be noble defenders of the weak.  Even if some of her fellow knights are a bit on the lazy side, she at least takes her vows to her queen and her country very seriously.

Heather's career isn't terribly prolific; while she does her job well, it's not as if she runs afoul of famous criminals or anything.  That is, not until she chances upon the Moonblade, a thief who's always managed to evade capture.  She also fails to catch the thief, not once, but twice.  Over the course of these incidents, she meets up with one of the thief's victims, as well as a delinquent dropped out from the local school of magic.  The three of them team up to seek not only the Moonblade, but anyone who he may be working for.  

PERSONALITY

The number one thing to know about Heather is that she is married to her job.  It's the crown and the guard corps that give her life its purpose, and indeed saved her life in the first place.  She's even sworn off things like marriage so as to keep herself as free of bias as she can manage.  However, sometimes she gets a little too attached to the letter of the law, and loses sight of the spirit.  This can make her appear to lack empathy, but she merely believes the law takes precedence.

Which is not to say she's some unfeeling machine.  Heather took up knighthood in the first place due to her love for the people she does have in her life, and her genuine desire for justice and peace.  She comes to genuinely enjoy her companions' company on their quest after the Moonblade, and even behaves motherly toward the young mage.  She often finds herself floating to the "top" in social situations, being seen as something of a leader among her friend circles (though they'll probably call her stubborn and bossy behind her back).  However, Heather rarely finds herself in social situations; besides letting her career take priority, she tends to keep to herself and pursue more private hobbies in the leisure time she does take.
