Originally intended as a ritual sacrifice, Seiran survived the ceremony’s failure but her family did not. Taken in by a forest-dwelling rebel clan, she was raised to be both healer and tactician, mastering herbs, survival and manipulation.

• Seiran enters the palace as assistant of the royal physician, ends up meddling with court affairs.
• Secretly courted by Crown Prince Li Heng, whom she eventually marries.
• Becomes Empress when Li Heng takes the throne and helps him manage the Empire.
• They have two sets of twins:
  • Lianyu & Ruozhi (older, male twins);
  • Aoto & Meilin (younger twins, born 13 years later).
