The post-war times of the early fifth era forced Alejandro to live in constant fear. Being a descendant of the notorious dictator Ramses Castillo, he and his three cousins Ernesto, Bianca, and Maurice Castillo were targets of groups whose sole purpose was to eradicate any Castillo descendants who could potentially follow the footsteps of Ramses; They sought refuge at Martyna Santángel’s Snakeskin hideout. The triplets dreaded being under her wing due to the lack of freedom, whereas Alejandro didn’t mind as much.

Another of Alejandro’s cousins, Ainsley Castillo, arrived in Buch del Santo along with his friend Seth de Rosa and during a visit they had made at the hideout, it was proposed to band together and get involved in Seth’s drug-selling schemes. Alejandro had no interest in being part of any of it, only watching from afar as all of his cousins participated in Seth’s orchestrated antics. He watched as his relatives became severely addicted to Tiāntáng, with Ainsley even overdosing and Alejandro having found him in time before it became lethal.

Unable to cope with the stress coming from the arguments that failed to convince his cousins to leave Seth’s side, Alejandro left the group walking the streets the El Calor on his own, eventually getting scouted out later on by nightclub owner Francis Dovich who employed him to become one of the drag queens performing there. Alejandro made himself known as “Amor” amongst the club’s patrons and after noticing he was in high demand, Francis and Alejandro came to a business agreement that he’d also be taking on sex work on the side to benefit the nightclub, which led to his rise to fame as the most beloved and well-known prostitute known to Buch del Santo, if not all of Eyia.
