Design:

• Jodi is a day octopus (Octopus cyanea) Octoling.
• Jodi has a recurring star theme in his design.
  • There are star patterns on his tentacles.
  • His eyes contain star shaped pupils.
  • There are stars on his jackets and shoes.
  • He wears star earrings and a necklace.
    • He is only wearing earrings on the left ear.
  • His octopus form has a star on its forehead.
• Jodi is wearing a cropped jacket with a dark undershirt. This jacket has star patterns on its sleeves and on the back.
• The gradient on Jodi’s tentacles are the same as the ones on his heeled boots and jacket.
• His finger/claw tips are blue.
• Jodi is wearing a ring on his right index finger.
• His usual ink color is yellow. If he were to participate in an ink battle, the color of his ink would be yellow.
  • Despite this, the inside of his mouth is blue.
• He stands at around 5'7" (but may actually be a bit shorter due to the fact he is wearing heels. He will insist he is 5'7" however.
  • His octopus form is 5'6". This is probably more accurate to his real height.

Personality:

• Obsessed with getting attention and fame.
• Jodi is a sweet talker.
• He is pretty self-absorbed.
• Can be obnoxious at times.
• Incredibly ambitious.
• Persistent and demanding.
• Social climber. Tends to be overly concerned with his connections.
• Very charming.
  • He will sometimes appear to flirt with people in order to get what he wants, even if he’s not actually interested in them.
• Extremely extroverted and quite nosy.

Other info:

• Jodi’s dream is to become a pop idol.
• Jodi is actually fairly talented as a singer, but his main priority seems to be getting famous more than actually improving his skill.
  • Jodi’s voice sounds somewhat like those of singers such as Sparkbird or Fish in a Birdcage.
• Very “fake it till you make it” mentality. He acts like he’s already rich and famous despite not actually being successful yet.
• Jodi is Harvey’s roommate.
  • Jodi wants Harvey to be an idol with him, but Harvey is very apprehensive due to his shyness. Jodi is also pretty reliant on Harvey’s musical talent as he himself is not a very skilled composer. Harvey is currently working with Jodi to produce some of his songs.
    • Jodi genuinely cares a lot for Harvey and wants Harvey to be there with him in his vision of “success”, but he unintentionally brushes off Harvey's feelings as he believes he knows what is "best" for Harvey more than he does.
  • The duo live in an apartment in Splatsville.
    • Jodi has no associations with the Octarians. He was born on the surface and in Splatsville.
• Many aspects of Jodi's design allude to the idea of fame or social status.
  • The name Jodi means “praised”.
  • Jodi’s choice of wearing a ring on his index finger specifically is intentional, as index finger rings are often seen as a sign of social status.
• Jodi is often seen in bright and flashy colors, as he wants to stand out.
• Jodi is actually broke and unemployed, but is very good at masking it.
• Jodi is surprisingly good at DIY and making outfits. He made most of his outfit himself.
• Jodi is very active on social media where he continues to pretend to be rich and famous online. He has a somewhat decent following, but nothing massive.
• He is somewhere in his mid 20's.
• He does not participate in ink battles usually and thus has no set main weapon.
