"If you want revenge, I will make it happen. I'll show you how."

Cold and sarcastic, Remiel takes no comfort being surrounded by people and rather the elimination of people. He specifically targets seers as they cause the largest portions of damages and relishes the moment when criminal organizations crumble at their absence with giddy delight.

Although sadistic when killing other seers at their own game, Remiel takes great care to conceal his efforts as the perpetrator, throwing in other remarks and lies to lead other people off to who Remiel actually is and how he truly acts. When Remiel is not busy trying to create discourse among criminal organizations, he is often quiet, not because he enjoys quiet time, but because he is also figuring out his next plans.

After he completes his task unwillingly given to him, his personality becomes somewhat softer, accepting more people into his life and change in lifestyle. However, if you prompt or agitate him to a certain extent, his previous personality resurfaces, full of spite and snarky sadism.

History

Forced to work for someone else, Remiel eventually learns that she was also doing him a favour - something that he would never forget and would learn to cherish. Utilizing his abilities, he starts learning to use them for more... useful things.

Someone to Talk to

Remiel was an orphan, growing up in an unruly portion of the country. This notorious area was known for its heavy affiliations with the underground world, especially with black markets. Criminal organizations would take control, and anything that displeased them would be thrown in disarray. Needless to say, Remiel fought for his life to grab anything he could eat, unfazed by the fact that his parents had left him here to die.

A soldier from the country's army had happened to find him. Every now and then, the army would send spies to check up on the activities of the criminal organizations, rarely intervening unless something massive was going to happen. Intercepting at the wrong time led to... other consequences, so the army had to be extra careful.

This soldier had a soft spot for children. After all, they had much to learn, and he wanted to do everything he could to bring them back to a place where they could be fed well and experience more things. However, as an undercover agent, he could not have the opportunity to just take some children and leave without a word. The criminal organizations kept a careful eye on the populations in the area, and that also included children. Children suddenly vanishing would cause suspicions of outsider activity, and the army at this point was on high alert.

After conversing with Remiel for a bit, the soldier had at inkling of what his ability was, especially after encountering a situation where he should not have been able to escape undetected. Through trial and error, he finally discovered what he could do: although his ability was unstable, Remiel was a growing and talented seer. Suddenly, this soldier's ambition to bring Remiel back to the capital grew.

Remiel really enjoyed the soldier's company. He did not know that he was a soldier from the country's army, but what he did know was that this man was teaching him all sorts of things. The few interactions they had together allowed him to start to understand what certain emotions were supposed to feel like, and he wanted to know more. When the soldier told him what he thought his ability was, Remiel got super excited. He really wanted to learn.

The soldier promised that he would come back to get him.

Dark Ends for You

It had been a few years, and Remiel was starting to get worried. He hadn't seen the soldier in a long while, and was hoping that at least in this absence, the soldier was enjoying his time at home. The area that he had come to was dangerous, so Remiel wouldn't be surprised if that was his reason for not coming back. He learned the hard way.

Upon chance, he overheard a conversation about one of the criminal organizations attacking a group of spies that had managed to infiltrate into their area. It was only based off of a small description that made Remiel's blood run cold. The soldier's appearance was mentioned, and the gruesome way of how he was killed. That was all Remiel needed to hear.

After having matured considerably for his age, Remiel decided to get revenge. To hurt and kill someone who gave him an opportunity to see and learn other things was unacceptable. His tiny world had shattered upon the news.

Plotting

Through his own source of intel, Remiel was able to learn some key facts: there was a seer involved that caused the soldier's death. His appearance was described, as well as the general vicinity of which he was seen in.

Remiel bided his time, forcing probabilities to happen, killing the seer. When he thought it was over, he had already learned that there was not just one seer, but three others, all led by the same individual. By taking out this individual's pillars of power, mainly his seers, Remiel deduced that a few criminal organizations would fall.

Eventually, although the four seers were already dead by this point, Remiel's ambition to disrupt criminal activity grew. His goal expanded to the rest of the area, interferring with all sorts of black market deals and effects. It was something that excited him. He never understood how revenge wasn't supposed to be satisfying. The supposedly empty feeling after completing a revenge was just not there for him.

Me, a Proxy?

One plan wasn't going according to his wishes. The realization didn't hit him until it was too late to turn the events - someone had taken over and overrided his plans of killing off another seer. He was livid. Ruining his fun? Where was this seer coming from? How did they know it was him?

It didn't take him long to figure out who was the one overrriding his abilities. They found him first.

Waking up to a room, chained to prevent him using his ability, he finelly met the seer that had foiled his previous plans: the current Exalt of the Iaes province. Placed within the same category as Remiel, she already had some plans set for him that he would be unable to refuse.

"Be my proxy." she stated. Remiel sneered.

"Now why the fuck would I do that?"

"Oh... there are multiple reasons." she said, using her sleeve to hide her smirk. Remiel furrowed his brows. He had an idea of what she was going to suggest.

It was either accept the position to see something that would relieve his anxiety - of which he apparently wasn't aware of - or face major charges against him for directly causing fatalities, regardless if the individual killed was innocent or guilty. Naturally, considering her power against his, fighting his way through jail wasn't an option. He reluctantly chose the former.

His job was simple. Visit the places the Exalt normally would have within the next two or three years, overseeing and casting probabilities. He would be let go afterwards with no repercussions.

This wasn't something that pleased Remiel. This wasn't something that pleased the Exalt's staff and guards either. Having to deal with an unruly man who was basically the opposite of the Exalt was something outrageous. They only accepted Remiel because he was similar in power to hers, and, surprisingly, very loyal to the "contract" set in place between the two.

Anxiety put to Rest

It came to the staff and guards' realization that the reason why Remiel was cold, calculative, and awkward in certain situations was due to the fact that he never really had a childhood. Remiel in turn started to learn more about how to interact with others with the staff. Very slowly, they started to trust each other.

The event that would relieve Remiel's "anxiety" happened upon "chance". Chance is considered a bogus term here, because Remiel knew that the Exalt could see this happen, and forced it so.

The soldier from his childhood. His grave was kept clean, and a friend of his remarked about how he really wanted to bring a child back from the slums. That child was Remiel.

The friend continued to talk about how the soldier was making a trinket - one that would help to channel a seer's power. Upon finding out Remiel's reaction and past, he gave the trinket to him.

Remiel hadn't cried in a very, very long time.

Trivia

Remiel doesn't harbour any ill feelings towards his biological parents, mostly due to the fact that his parents were never there to begin with. He learned how a family supposedly worked when older individuals decided to put effort in saving his life when he was a baby.

Remiel is terrible at social interactions related to cute things or love-related topics. Sure, he can flirt, but dealing with complicated love-related topics? Now that was something that made him somewhat clueless. He never grew up needing to learn that, after all.

He has a lot of scars that cover all over his body. This is due to his past of struggling to survive so every now and then he has to explain how he got those scars to surprised individuals, especially when he's getting ready to take a nap under the sun to recharge.

One of the major differences between Remiel and the Exalt is the amount of time they need to calculate new probabilities. The Exalt is somewhat faster, growing up in an environment that constantly changed faster than his. What irks Remiel more is that the Exalt is also able to consider a few more possibilities faster than he can as well.

After he finishes his task forced upon him, he gets merged into the Exalt's organization, doing similar things to what he had been doing for the past few years. In this new lifestyle change, he has been 1) kidnapped when recharging because the culprit wanted to a) be basically invincible with powerful seers and b) add him to his collection, and 2) placing himself in helping a dire situation by "lying" to further instigate panic and over-preparedness or otherwise the person they wanted to rescue wouldn't make it.

Style: Remiel is not generally a physical fighter, but as he grew up in the slums to fight for anything he could get his hands on, he has surprisingly nimble hands and short but fast strikes. His stamina is superb, given how much energy it takes to forecast and force probabilities, but recharging takes a considerable amount of time which can only be done during the day. Battles against other seers vary depending on the classification, and certain seer types are ones that Remiel may choose to avoid altogether.

As a seer, he is forced to work and think on the spot, improvising as he moves. In certain cases, he is able to do so on the spot, but other more complicated tasks require much more planning and ruling out bad possibilities. The more complicated, the more time he needs.

Seer Class and Types: There are 5 seer class types: 1) dream seers, 2) fortune seers, 3) clarivoyant seers, 4) probability seers, and 5) specialist seers. Dream seers can only view into the future when they are asleep, fortune seers can only see futures related to good luck, clarivoyant seers can view incredibly far into the future but have little impact to change anything themselves, probability seers force certain futures to happen, and specialist seers are those that don't fit into the previous four categories, but can forsee a future related to an object, person, or phrase. Power of the seer can be judged by their "charging circle" when they have used too much of their abilities.

It is uncommon to see probability seers and specialist seers, and strength of the user varies considerably, to the point that sometimes the individual does not even realize their potential. Interestingly enough, probability seer abilities are incompatible with fortune seers, and so must work extra hard to overcome their predictions, especially if they are of the enabler type. Clarivoyant seers tend to override specialist seers, but specialist seers tend to do better than dream or fortune seers in terms of immediacy. Dream seers often offer the safest predictions.

Of each class, there are 3 types: A) viewers, B) enablers, and C) irregulars. Viewers, as described, can only view what can happen. Possibilities of changing a future must be done by others, and with great effort or the future will remain unchanged. Enablers can force a change themselves, but must be of high caliber in order to overwrite others. Irregulars are a mixture in between A and B, which can be frustrating at times as their want to force a change does not always happen. Clarivoyant seers are an exception to the enabler type, and probability seers are an exception to the viewer type.

Class 4 Type B Seer Magics: Remiel is a probability seer of the enabling type, and as one with high caliber, is able to overwrite other predictions if he is able to judge the situation well enough. Capabilities as a probability seer means that his magic is based on percentages and what-if scenarios: the more situations he can see, the more he is able to control as he is better able to gauge the percentages of events happening. As such, Remiel can redirect the future as he can force "near-impossible" solutions to happen. When overwriting someone else's predictions, the other seer is left unaware until it is either too late or if the seer manages to catch a slight difference in what they originally envisioned but cannot act fast enough on it. If there is a more powerful probability seer or fortune seer interferring, his own forced predictions are removed.

Remiel is required to know the major players in the future events he is forcing, and must be within the vicinity for it to take effect. Recharging for probability seers requires skin exposure to moonlight for long periods of time, though for some reason Remiel recharges the fastest during sunny days, especially at noon. Using too much power makes him feel sluggish and nauseous, and so is careful when listening to his own body's stress to prevent burnout.
