Fluorite

• Originally an overly curious and adventurous kit, they regularly snuck out to explore new and pretty places. They had a big attraction to shiny trinkets and things that sparkled, especially a strange glowing cluster of crystals they had recently found on one of their adventures. Their sibling had told them not to touch it, but being the stubborn one they were, they snuck out at the dead of night to investigate the shiny cluster and maybe take one for themselves. However, upon touching and getting pricked by the sharp edge of one of the crystals, parts of it lodged into the cut and started to grow. They had gotten it out of their paw, but somehow they started to develop on half of their body, weakening them. They stayed in the cave they had found the cluster for days, before finally leaving after at least a week. Their "corrupted" body parts seemed to absorb sunlight, causing the crystals to develop further, as well as change color slightly.
