Arranged in gleaming rows on his countertop and shelves, his measuring cups and scales are obvious as Katau's most prized possessions. With them he trusts that his carefully planned recipes will always turn out perfectly, not a thing over- or under-measured. The results show in the proud, neat rows of pastries, cakes, and cookies displayed in his windows, each one almost artlike for the obvious care taken with each line of frosting or sprinkle of bright sugar.
The gorgeous display certainly lures in a good number of visitors who linger over the delightful treats, but it's there that the beautiful presentation sometimes falters. "It's so lovely, I simply couldn't bring myself to eat it!" they tell a dismayed Katau, often leaving empty-handed despite his fervent assurances that they're made to be eaten!
In typical sisterly fashion, she seems to love nothing more than riling him up. Nobody can send a composed Katau into a downward spiral of self-pitying whining faster! Still, she always stands up for him when it counts, and he loves her for it.
Katau sells many of his pastries and desserts to the tavernkeeper, finding that his hungry patrons are more than happy to go through far more of them than he manages to sell in his pristine shop.
Simultaneously intimidating and attractive, Katau is continuously astonished that he somehow managed to catch Vothoris' attention.
