Mutation

Mutation idea:
A roughly humanoid entity represented by a slight rippling of the air appears somewhere in close proximity to Kid's body. Initially manifested only when under extreme stress in order to protect him/attack anything/anyone within it's range (about 3.5ft) but the exertion results in loss of consciousness for the host (this can last anywhere from an hour to upwards of three days depending on the circumstances).

As Kid grew older, he worked to have better 'control' of the entity. As of current in-world time (age 17) the entity can be called out on command as purely defense (won't attack, basically a shield) at the cost of an exponential loss in its strength.

Any amount of time summoned will gradually spend Kid's energy and after roughly 5 minutes of manifestation the fatigue becomes an impediment. Somewhere around 10 minutes he will pass out. This limit can, however, be extended slightly if spread out over a period of time. (He first began training his ability by summoning it for periods of 10-30 seconds at a time over the course of a day, taking 1-3 hour long breaks in between each summoning.)

Most effects (minus those accrued from over use) will fade after a full night's sleep. If Kid fails to get adequate rest, effects of any use of his ability since the last time he was well rested will linger until adequate rest is achieved.

Fun(?) facts:
✓Even though Kid has aged since the initial manifestation, the entity never appears to change size.
✓Kid developed a habit of murmuring to the entity over the years of his training with it; there are no signs of comprehension.
✓Sometimes refers to it as kuma or kuma-chan, taken from the name of his childhood companion: a stuffed bear.
✓entity will appear if extreme stress is achieved regardless of Kid's current state; ie in the case of debilitating nightmares the entity will appear while Kid is asleep. This has an extremely negative effect as it stops Kid from being able to awaken from the nightmare even when he would naturally. When the incidents occur (rare) he often ends up in a state of unconsciousness for roughly 24 hours. There have only been 4 cases of this, 3 of which occurred before the age of 10.
