About

Ophelia is a college freshmen that was granted the ability to transform into a mahou shoujo, a magical girl, the summer before she left for school. A strange being granted her a necklace that allows her to transform, although she's discovered that the ability follows her even when she forgets to wear the jewelry. Life is interesting for her; she's trying to balance being a freshman in college and the new responsibility that comes with her new abilities, not to mention there's apparently a whole gang of other mahou shoujo and mahou shounen in the area, all of them with similar stories and ability levels.

Fe is majoring in physics and considering a minor in math. She's incredibly sharp and has an analytical mind that is good at breaking down problems, whether they're homework-related or because some new nightmare is attacking the city. Her sarcasm, short temper, and blunt attitude has endeared her to a few and alienated her from others, so she struggles to make friends sometimes, but is shown to be diligent and loyal when someone actually puts up with her sharp tongue. She's got a small circle of friends at school that feel a little superficial to her, as she hasn't told anyone about her mahou shoujo abilities, but she enjoys them anyway even if she has to lie sometimes.

Ophelia considers herself a protector. The nightmares that attack can only be put down by those with her ability, and she considers it a personal duty to go after every single one that appears, even though she knows there are other mahous in the area that could deal with it. She butts heads with them over this sometimes, as the others feel like she's overstepping her bounds, but in reality she just doesn't want to see innocent people get hurt because she sat back from a fight. 

Relationships

Alabaster: Ophelia first meets Alabaster fighting a nightmare on a school night. At the time, she was struggling slightly against it, as the nightmare was a type that resisted her fire and kept continually putting up earthy defenses that slowed her down. Alabaster appeared out of nowhere and took down the nightmare in one hit. The arrival of another mahou shounen surprised Ophelia; she thought that she was the only mahou in the city. She accosted him, irritated that he'd taken down the nightmare so quickly after her struggle, and demanded to know who he was. Alabaster's nonchalance and relaxed attitude further irritated her as he introduced himself and departed. The next day in class, she was surprised when a young man seated himself next to her and offered her a wink. Taken slightly aback, it took her until halfway through the lecture to realize that the person sitting next to her was the mahou shounen she'd met the night before. Immediately after the class she confronted him again, demanding to know what his game was, and Alabster could only laugh. He explained patiently that he was a student and mahou just like her, and they should make friends and stick together, shouldn't they? From there on out, it seemed to Fe that Alabaster made it a goal to go out of his way to annoy her. He always sat next to her during their shared lecture and would bump into her between classes. His easygoing attitude continued to annoy Ophelia, but she was gradually somewhat worn down by his friendliness and charm and begrudingly calls him a friend.

Ophelia and Alabaster eventually fall into a sort of on-again off-again quasi-relationship. They don't date but do have a loose friends with benefits situation and occasionally fuck around with one another. However, Alabaster's general nonchalance and laid-back attitude drives Ophelia insane, who has a very driven and slightly neurotic personality, and as such she can only tolerate him at certain times. They clash a fair amount over little things, but regardless Alabaster is always present when the nightmares arrive and fights well with Ophelia. They coordinate fighting together and occasionally work with each other for homework and class-related issues.
