Trivia
Dead
Her eyes are always covered, but she can still see trough the gun wound on her forhead which can sometimes bleed, with no particular reason, making her completely blind until it stops.
Her body is made of stone, while her wings are feathery, so flying for her is extremely difficult.
She doesn't like this part of her and daydreams she were an actual bird.
Her dress was custom-made to resemble a sketch Vanessa had attached to their death letter: it would have been a present for her 14th birthday. This is why she never wears anything else and just magically keep it clean.
She has self harming tendencies and sometimes smashes herself onto her room's walls to try to feel something, but her body just cracks and fixes itself almost instantly.
When feeling strong emotions she tends to close her wings behind her back making them almost "invisible".
She collects jewelleries, not to wear them, but to admire them: she loves their sparkling.
Every piece of her collection has a secret name based on things that made her happy in life.
Her favorite is a gold necklace with a ruby pendant: it's a gentle reminder that red doesn't always mean blood and death.
Apart from her very curated collection, she has a tendency to hoard things as she's scared she could become poor again.
She's autistic and often stims by fidgeting with her fingers: before being diagnosed in Heaven she had always hated this part of her.
She has a lot of special interests and they change almost monthly, every time she'll try to learn the most about them with the risk of give herself burnout.
Most, but not all, of her special interests circle about animals: cats and birds especially.
Every time she feels like a new interest is sprouting she talks about them (with all the books she found) with her therapist: unfortunately Laila's deathly scared of birds and Ava learnt it first hand when she started hyperventilating during a sessions as soon as she showed her a picture of a parrot.
Since she died as a child, even after all this time, she still wants to feel that childlike joy and often tries to talk with other kids but most of the time they get scared or simply don't understand her as she's from an entire different time period: she even tried creating friendship bracelets but for now only Laila accepted it and still has it in her studio.
In her lowest times she finds herself doodling her parents all over again while calling their names because she has a nagging voice that tells her if she doesn't she'll forget them as it happened to a lot of other people.
She had always loved birds, and given her name's meaning, for her parents it was a funny little coincidende; however, for her, it was more, it was a life mission to become "Ava, the bird queen": it was just a juvenile game, but they did actually seem to listen to her and play together.
When she was younger, she was non-verbal around strangers (only really speaking if her family's life and well-being was on the steak), but really chatty around people she trusted (and animals in general). She lost this tendency when she had to fend for herself and her mother and something clicked inside her: how could have she found a job if she couldn't even say a word to people she didn't know?
Her mother's siblings tried to kidnap her twice, but she was still saved both times, one by her father, one by her mother.
The death of her father, the only man she knew that really treated her and her mother as equals despite them being women, hit them like a brick. They fell in depression for years and when they were starting to accept it they had to flee London for a reason unknown to her.
She and her mother found themselves having to live in an abbandoned house for the next few years: seeing as her mother's health was declining during that time, she found a job in a rich man's home as a servant (sometimes almost a slave), it wasn't the best but at least she could buy some medicine to slip into her mother's food even if she kept declining it saying that she had "already eaten at work".
One time when she woke up she found a letter from her mother telling all the truth: when she rushed to the woods to find her she only found her body and, in a fit of rage for the world leaving her alone, she started to think of way to end it all.
Unfortunately, a hunter, seeing a frail little girl alone in the woods covered in blood, shot her in the back of the head as he had mistaken her for malevolent creature. She did actually sense him but wasn't fast enought to turn her head around.

Alive
Born in a working class family, her childhood wasn't covered in luxuries, but, as her parents actually believed in equality, she never felt less than anyone. She had always loved birds, and given her name's meaning, for her parents it was a funny little coincidende; however, for her, it was more, it was a life mission to become "Ava, the bird queen": it was just a juvenile game, but they did actually seem to listen to her and play together.

design trivia
General
Her design is mostly based on a cuckoo, a bird that lays its eggs on another bird's nest. I used this iconography becuase the chick finds itself surrounded by a whole different species without its parents, like she woke up in Heaven alone.
I also designed her to remind of weeping angel (not the Doctor Who kind), from her the stone skin.
If drawn with a nose and ears, the drawing will not be considered completely canon.
Last name: "Faber-Keen" is the union of both her parents' last names, as they felt she shouldn't only use her father's one. "Keen" was obviously not considered as an actual part of her name while alive.
