now past her "prime," she has only a small handful of very wealthy clients and is living in the lap of luxury, though she has become bitter and jealous and is desperately uncomfortable with the fact that she is aging. she especially resents octave, whose youth and beauty she envies, especially after he took her place as the head courtesan, and now as a manager of sorts for the maison (octave knows she hates him and he leaves her well enough alone, as a veteran of the brothel she really does whatever the fuck she wants and he has no jurisdiction over her; guillaume likely knows of her history with his father and feels a sort of second hand guilt, and also lets her get away with whatever the fuck she wants)
