dude I love the concept of pastel horror - this character could be a tormented living-dead creature, not alive but not dead, like a physical spirit. They gave up on an end to their life full of misfortune and dispair, and instead started to long for a companion, someone to ease the pain. But everyone they touch, everyone they get close to, is stricken with awful happenings and are often killed or maimed. So they wander around looking for a friend, wailing from the pain they've suffered.
