Redbelly is a young doctor who struggles to fill the shoes of her late mentor, Eclipsesong. She started her training later than most, and graduated early due to Eclipsesong‘s old age and need for a replacement. Despite putting all of her heart into her work and studies, she still finds herself feeling often unprepared and unworthy of her position as she copes with the many losses throughout her life and navigates her heavy responsibilities.

Redbelly has a genuine care for the cats around her and a purpose within her work, she understands the importance of what she does and will stay on her feet from the moment she wakes until dark if necessary. But in between these moments and underneath her layers of exhaustion, she has a youthful side and finds humor in teasing or harmlessly pranking clanmates.

Her caring nature and concern for others is what makes her so good at her job, but there are times when her sentimentalism gets in the way of logical thinking and causes her to make biased choices, develop decision fatigue, or have bad judgment in heated moments. She’s defensive of those she loves, sometimes overly so, to the point she might shelter someone who needs to spread their wings or become so attached that she finds it hard to let go when she must. Redbelly feels for others very deeply and constantly pushes herself beyond her limits, it can be extremely tolling on her emotionally and physically.

Due to her constant overworking and passionate emotions, Redbelly can be snappy and prone to outbursts when frustrated or upset. She often worries that she’s not living up to what’s expected of her and tries to hide her feelings from others so they don’t worry about her. She struggles addressing difficult emotions and situations directly, which can lead to her having loose ends and grieving relationships she never properly let herself mourn.
