Making things lighter can TECHNICALLY get the molecules to move faster, so really it's just him making himself lighter while adding an extreme amount of movement to

Anyways, oils in his skin and hair protect him from being burned, however when Ikuto was younger he wasn't producing those oils yet so he didn't get much practice in with his quirk without being burned. 

He looks up to his parents and their achievements and feels like he doesn't match up to them in the slightest
