Varka was raised by her human mother on the outskirts of a bustling town. Her earliest memories are ones of solitude and of constantly avoiding her mother's wrath. As she grew older, she would hunt rabbit and squirrel in the forest that bordered her home, eventually becoming adept at hunting larger game.
One evening, she returned home from a hunt to find that a crowd had gathered around her hut, awaiting her arrival with pitchforks at the ready. From what she was able to piece together by listening to the mob's disjointed arguments as they marched her into town, a male orc had desecrated a temple to Tyr the night before. Varka- visibly orcish, but also quite obviously female- was the prime suspect for some, and an innocent to others.
It was declared that her innocence would be proved in combat.
