"Last one there dies at the Gym! ...Hey, wait, you're not supposed to be ahead of me!"

Born as the only son out of four daughters, Roxie had many expectations put on her from a young age. With her father’s absence, there were big shoes to fill, ones that everyone around her expected her to easily. Yet, that terrified her. She didn’t want anything to do with him. And if she’s the only son, who’s to say she wouldn’t grow up and become just like him? Thus, she became a girl… and was quickly ousted from her family. From then on, she fended for herself, living on the outskirts of Santalune City. When a group of people her age come along, offering a spot on their team complete with free housing and food, she jumps at the opportunity.
Her personality fluctuates depending on what she thinks she’ll get out of the person she’s talking to if she acts a certain way. She wants to join the party? She’ll act like she’s just itching for a good battle, having had to hold herself back all these years as to not hurt sparring buddies. She wants respect? She’ll play up her meager accomplishments, make it seem like securing a bed for the night was a small-scale war. The only constant is her general desire for connection. Everything she does is to try and make herself seem admirable in someone else’s eyes. Maybe then they wouldn’t leave her like everyone else.

Trivia

• She has a tendency to get herself into perilous situations and narrowly avoid death. She brags about having "nine lives" because of this. Which one she's on is unknown.
• While she has no permanent home, a couple kind citizens of Santalune offer her places to stay from time to time. She stays for a couple days and then leaves, even if she could've stayed for longer. She doesn't want to become dependent on anyone other than herself.
• She can't stand coffee and gags at the mere thought of having to go into a café.

Relationships

Lysandre Duvernay / father
Roxie hates him more than anything. He abandoned her mother and sisters, and for what? His stupid science projects? She just can't wrap her head around what he did, and thus, she resents him for it. If she ever sees him again, she's going to give him a piece of her mind. And maybe a piece of her fist.

Mirei Furuno / girlfriend
She doesn't quite know how they both came to like each other, it's still so surreal, but Roxie is exceedingly happy to be with Mirei. She knows she has the strength to protect the girl, as well as a lively personality that always gets her smiling. Every time she makes a joke, even if she's the butt of it, she always looks to see Mirei's reaction first. And every little smile she gets is worth taking a bullet for.

After Fate Aligns...

Ten years later...
After foiling her father's plans to destroy the world, and personally seeing to him and his cohort professor's time spent in jail, Roxie has been doing fairly good for herself. Being a Champion means she gets access to so, so many things she's never experienced before. She takes full advantage of her newfound status, often going to lavish restaurants and boutiques daily. Though, she does still try and be humble. It's the little things in life that mean the most to her, anyways. Getting to tuck Mirei into bed after a long day, or getting to make breakfast for her early in the morning... More than anything, those are the types of things she treasures most.
But, unfortunately for her, she can't get used to the domestic lifestyle just yet. Her role as a Champion doesn't just mean she gets special treatment, it also means she's one of the first to step up whenever a new threat arises. And, with rumors of Team Flare's return coming from Alola, she boards a plane alongside Leo to stop her father yet again.
