Lachlan is friendlier than the average Trahernm and wears his heart on his sleeve For this reason, he was put down by his uncles as a disappointment to the family, and that bullying from adults he was supposed to trust colored his childhood. His self-confidence has been shot, and where previously he'd have loved to put on a show by signsing and dancing, now he's stage-shy and prefers to document current events as a storyteller instead.
Lachlan has a good relationship with his parents, Mòr and Roy, and they always defend him from his critical uncles. Taskill and Kerr have been Lachlan's bullies ever since he was born, making him feel like he wasn't good enough for the family name. His wife, Iona, is one of the few bright lights in his life. They were married for politcal reasons, but Lachlan is starting to develop feelings for her. Feelings that he hides out of fear she won't return them.
As a storyteller, Lachlan likes to do it behind a curtain. He will often tell the history of Coedraigtir with a puppet show for children, and those are the highlights of Lachlan's career. He's not interested in rising through the ranks, and is perfectly happy being a storyteller and lore keeper with his performances not attached to his name. Only in anonymity does Lachlan seem to shine.
Lachlan is a sparsely-marked abyssinian cat with reddish brown tawny fur and distinct markings around his eyes. He has a narrow, wedge-shaped face with dark tear marks. He has tufts on the tips of his ears and dark green eyes.
Lachlan still has the iron ball charm he received as a child and tends to wear it around his neck. However, he has long since painted it bright blue and continues to touch up the color.
