Blaise is incredibly prickly towards people they don't know. They tend to over use their magic in public with grand displays of power to initmidate people into not coming near them, but it often backfires into the weirdest people approaching them constantly instead.

For the people they cherish, however, they tend to shower them in material objects. Due to their age they tend to forget that few people can just throw money around and will just go out and purchase an entire wardrobe of outfits for someone given the whim. They consider themself socially inept, so they do their best to pay attention to what their friends want since its a lot harder for them to fuck up a gift than a compliment. The people around them find it both endearing and incredibly frustrating.

"Frankly at this point, anxiety is my default state of mind."

Blaise is a well-off tutor for young tentakitsunes and magicians who have just come into their powers and want to learn to either control them or strengthen them. They teach students of all ages, but mainly little kids who need to stop setting their parent's tails on fire every chance they get. Their students usually stay students for quite a while unless their family has to move.

Even from a young age Blaise had remarkably strong magic and control over it, which makes them look like a great teacher except they don't actually get how to explain things to other people. They've made it this far on bullshitting their way through it after they accidently helped someone figure out how to control their fire and then got like 20 letters from different people asking for help.

They have no idea what they are doing.

It took some time, but Blaise is now pretty confident in their ability to teach. Lune was instrumental in encouraging them to keep going and take it seriously, and they've raised quite a number of mischievous children into young wizards now. They've grown quite picky, and well, prickly when it comes to tutoring. Their methods for deciding whether or not they'll take someone on as a student are a complete mystery to most, but anyone who knows them well enough would say they'll take anyone that will give them a challenge.

Roster of Students:

Cecil

Current Apprentice

Notes: "Cecil is mastering the intricacies of failure very throughly, and is just as throughly frustrating as usual. They said they'd bring me out for steak later though so I'll let it slide."

Gilligan Grey

Current apprentice

Notes: "Today he added Ancient Greek and Norwegian to the list of languages he slips into and now I have to email the Institute of Linguistical Magic again."

Hades

Current apprentice

Notes: "He is not allowed to have bones anymore and someone better snitch his supplier before I lose my shit."

Runa

Current apprentice

Notes: "They made me a boquet of dandelions today and I cried in front of the class again."

Maeve

Former Apprentice and cousin

Azusa

Former apprentice

Notes: "Dimensional magic is so fascinating, and so useful!"

Lune 1483044?1557463379

Lune is Blaise's matchbox fae, a tiny guardian of their greatest wish. Their presence throughout the years has kept Blaise from falling back into the depression of their childhood. They've been a treasured friend and companion for so long, Blaise could not imagine existing without them.

Lux 4085208?1558035669

Old flame, current rival.

Cecil 3253450?

Cecil is one of Blaise's longest staying students simply because they have 0 control over their powers and Blaise is the easiest person to convince to reverse mishaps. Cecil has some amount of control (shockingly) over their powers now that they've been training under Blaise, and has learned a lot about the powers they can control, but also keeps showing up just because Blaise is now a good friend and they want to go shopping.
