Iske Virtanen

A DIPSHIT stoic metalhead who endures night terrors and insomnia.

Iske [ee-skay] Virtanen [veer-tah-nen]

Iske was born and raised in rural Finland. His father raised him with a rigid sense of masculinity, raising him to believe he could not show emotions or weakness. He camped out and spent a lot of time outdoors in childhood, and as a teen would sneak out of school to smoke in the woods. His teen years would see him growing into his problems with night terrors and Insomnia, which fed his disgruntled attitude that got him into trouble. He was a rowdy teenager who was eager to make himself known as a big tough man even though he physically was on the un-athletic side. Tall and built like a twig with long flowing hair he grew out as a rebellion against his parents and to fit in with the metal subculture he grew into. 

After graduating he felt the need to change his living situation and on almost a complete whim, moved to America. He felt called to the forests and settled there. For the first few years he felt awkward and out of place as he only spoke english as a second language. He would dedicate a lot of this time to himself, working on his language barrier along with his physical appearance through regular exercise. Though he was taking care of himself the night terrors did not cease.

He met his wife at this time in his life, though he didn't realize who she'd become to him at first and neither did she.

A little while after he'd gotten engaged to her he'd soon meet some of his integral social circle, those being Samson Mokri and a couple years[?] later Skoll Fen. Samson and him started a death metal band together and dream of making it big, despite both working in a small shitty pizza joint.

Personality

He can endure intense cold and goes bananas over Christmas. Iske has a hard time expressing weakness or emotions deemed non-traditionally masculine, which is where his stoic nature comes from. Hes slowly chipping away at this and the issues its caused, and as a result is weirdly intense in every day situations. He gets riled up by people poking fun at him for too long and has an insecure streak about how people view him. He likes being viewed as a "hero" of sorts or someone admirable and special, and will freak out if this is challenged. He really needs time to work around this to avoid holding grudges and needs a lot of outside help to express himself in a natural and healthy way. His current friends being so emotionally open and available has helped him chip away at the emotional problems built up by his past.

He is fearless and fierce, bold and dominant in energy and proud. He still maintains a generous streak and tries to be outwardly kind to others. Gentle with kids and has a soft spot for animals. He gets very protective of his friends and very petty about those he dislikes. He is a pawn to his impulses and maintained a lot of his rowdy behavior from surrounding himself with other rowdy friends. He dreams of bringing himself and his wife closer to the woods but for now they are in a small apartment unit. Iske's plans for the far future are unknown as he seems to be making shit up as he goes.

Along with his bold fiery personality he is a handsome dope. He probably will not understand what you're saying to him at first or at second or at third but give him time hes trying. He takes shortcuts in problem solving more often than not.
