Ronit Bolverk

Ronit had a really nice childhood, and then a really long downward spiral.
Ronit was born and raised in Absalom, and had spent her entire life in the city before her adult life. Ronit's mother had a lot of bad luck in her younger years, and Ronit and her sister both have different fathers, but the whole family's fortune was turned for better when Ronit's mother fell in love again and married a kind merchant, providing them with a peaceful childhood and allowing both of their children to educate themselves and choose their own paths in life.
Even if their family life was loving and supportive, Ronit always felt inferior to her beautiful half-elf sister, and her self esteem kept on getting worse. Ronit mostly spent her childhood reading books by herself, when her sister went out and had a whole lot of friends. However, when Ronit and her sister were in their early teens, they were out playing with some other children outside Absalom town proper, and, because of a dare, Ronit ended up in an accident and lost her leg. Her already bad self esteem took a big hit, and Ronit began her single-minded pursuit to become an alchemist in order to get her leg back. Ronit joined the Pathfinder Society in order to fund her studies and research.

Most of Ronit's experiments on her own body went wrong in some way or another, and she ended up doing pretty much everything but growing her leg back. This included growing a pair of extra arms, retractable wings, and creating a cat-shaped autonomous tumor. In the end, she was desperate enough to just graft herself a new leg from a half-fiend gargoyle, deeming it appropriate after "already becoming a monster". This, though, was a bit of a turning point for Ronit, who finally seemed to realise how desperate and depressed she had been, and she basically retired from Pathfinder Society after this.

When Pathfinder Society got a hold of an old manor in Taldor and needed agents to go check it out, Ronit went out on this mission with Orteil, another Pathfinder agent she had gotten acquinted with a long time ago and had a bit of a crush on, and started a path to recovery. They stayed in the manor, and Orteil mostly spent his time renovating, where Ronit started cataloging the experiments of the alchemist who used to live there and took time to focus on self care. Eventually she married Orteil, and after two of her newer experiments created sapient life, the two adopted them as their children. Things are far, far from "normal", but they are much better now.
Trismegistus is their oldest child. The boy has now become a Pathfinder Agent himself, growing up on stories of his parents' adventures.

Ronit is a shy, anxious woman who's constantly stressing about several dozen things at a time.
She worries about things way too easily, and some of the strongest driving emotions in her life are fear and worry. She's very intelligent, and knowledgeable about a lot of things, but she's easily overwhelmed by her own negative emotions. She finds a lot of comfort in familiar things, and one big comfort in her life is Lumpsy, her familiar slash cat slash autonomous tumor. Ronit is very caring, and a kind person, but a lot of her good qualities are often overshadowed by her anxiety and self-hate - especially in stressfull situations, which, well, is most times she's on field duty.
