Cahira was a human girl who was taken and transformed into a Dryad princess as some form of prophecy. It is unclear why exactly she was chosen, other than she was believed to have been the one to fulfill that prophecy. However, due to circumstances regarding that prophecy's translation, it was later believed that after gaining her trust and transforming her, making her one of their own, she was needed to be sacrificed.
Rebelling against that prophecy, and searching for a way home, Cahira came across an undead King who promised her a way home, and in her desperation she fell for it. He regained a mortal body whilst Cahira was cursed to slowly become like he was - undead.
She sought out dark magics and found a way to pause the curse. However, it holds her in a half dead state in which she cannot return from, leaving one half of her face that of a lich.
