History
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, USA from Guatemalan Immigrants, Adrian Pérez was naturally wise and perceptive with his environment. During his childhood, he was more then an nuisance at home, bypassing child-proof locks and climbing up to high places for the promise of sweet treats.
Growing up and going to school, his experienced problem solving was pushed further, though maybe in the wrong direction, as he instigating fights between his fellow pupils through pulling strings and lying, the biggest of which was when he managed to cause a fight between two football teams. However, this isn't all he did in school, as he progressed in a mix of Politics and R.E. Studies. Getting high grades in both of them. By the time he left the education system, however, it was very different...
...War was brewing, and unfortunately, Adrian was conscripted into the EOD squads thanks to his smarts, something he grew to quickly, defusing so many kinds of bombs until what would've become his last, during 'Operation Oceanus', a device powerful enough evaporate all the water in the world was about to be activated, all UN forces did their best to stop the devastating event. Although it's not clear what happened, the twenty-something-year-old Adrian and all the other engineers who were tasked to directly assault and deactivate the device failed in their mission, being too late to even touch the device, and the world was thrown into an unending drought, as seas become salt beds and water was worth more then blood.
Although Adrian Pérez 'died' with the devices activation, something new became of him, and 'Grandfather Nomad' was born to walk the world he had doomed through failure.
Personality
GFN might look like feeble old man in a heavy suit of armour, but he's wise for his age, filled with knowledge and will likely outsmart everyone in the room. However, he is perspicacious and fairly diplomatic in his thinking. He does have problems getting close to people, but just spend some time with the guy, he warms up nicely.

-Dried Strawberries, he's liked them all his life, including now.
-Telling stories from after the drought.

NOTES:
Headcanons
-GFN's 'Warclub' is, rather obviously, his old lever-action shotgun, so damaged over time that it can't be used as a gun anymore.
-It's unclear weather he has any children or not, it's general considered that he does, he has not confirmed this however.
-Although GFN stands for 'Grandfather Nomad', lots of people like to turn it into 'Good Fucking Night', thanks to his fighting style of just leaving people unconscious, rather then killing them.
-He prefers to play chess, but since most pieces have been lost over time, Tic-Tac-Toe works nicely.
-GFN does what he can to repair to gear, since he thinks it important still.
-Don't try to sneak up on him, even in a kind way, he's just as likely to hit you.
