Newt is a little socially awkward- probably because he’s been homeless for half his life. You’d think this would have made him bitter and anxious, but he’s actually a genuinely kind, easygoing dude, even if he does sort of have his head in the clouds.
To be fair, he’s also haunted.
He’s currently living in a fancy high-rise apartment in New York City which is, you know… better. The only other thing you need to know is that Newt really, really likes hot sauce. Especially the really, really spicy kind...
You can buy a lot of hot sauce for the cost of rent in New York...
Newt has mousy brown hair, beige skin, and hazel eyes with dark circles that make it look like he hasn’t slept in a very, very long time. He has a labret piercing (not um… his idea), and a little nick out of his left earlobe that he doesn’t actually remember getting? He has a stray dog sort of vibe that makes some people want to protect him- but usually not. It’s probably the unkempt facial hair, or maybe the acne, or the decidedly authentic Mullet(TM).
Also worth noting are the many, many scars dotting (mainly) his shoulders and arms from years of chronic, untreated dermatillomania. (He doesn’t like people seeing them.)
In terms of style, Newt has no style. His clothing “decisions” over the years have been informed by A) the weather and B) get-ability. Given the choice, he’ll generally pick whatever is most comfortable. He tends to put on too many layers “just in case” and feels most at home in baggy jeans. He does have one (1) shabby army green jacket that he is weirdly attached to for, apparently, no other reason than “it’s warm”.

The Garfield shirts are Sinclair’s- Newt, in fact, knows very little about the GCU (Garfield Cinematic Universe).
Newt grew up in a trailer in the backwoods of Missouri. This information, as well as the color of paint on his shitty father’s rusty truck (blue), is immediately apparent to anyone who has ears with which to hear his absolutely ridiculously pronounced accent.
