Profile

Vilgos trained from a young age in the way of the Wu Jen at one of few monestaries for Mystics, located in/around an underwater volcano near his hometown of Coanoch. His brother, Vodos, a part of the Guardians that protected the gate to the elemental plane that the city surrounded, used his brother's elemental abilities to make him a scapegoat for his own evil deeds, as he'd brokered a deal with malicious entities on the other side of the gate, then broke the seal to let them through. The blame came down on Vilgos, then 15, an elemental adept who'd returned to the city proper for the triton ceremony celebrating his journey into adulthood. He was exiled from his city. In the first year, he wandered the ocean, searching for lost knowledge, becoming in tune with the sea and the cold in the ways he'd been taught. But in that year, Vodos used the elementals' powers to rise to power. He destroyed the monestary, knowing that the Wu Jen's elemental abilities would allow them to stop his elemental allies and rip his power from under him. Vilgos caught word of this and fled the ocean, exiled from his home once again. For years, he's live or travel in total solitude, connecting to the natural world, to himself, studying and exploring ancient ruins, finding more about the ancient arts through self discovery and meditation. He'd collected a few forgotten magical items along the way, and mastered his Talent. Only now, after a decade in total isolation, is he returning to join the outside world. Through his psychic talents, he could sense its' hurt from afar, and he could no longer sit and study and grow better with talents he would never use otherwise. He's had trouble adjusting, but he's found adventuring to be a good bridge from the isolation of his old life, and one that's a bit more social...as well as accepting of strange people like himself.

Vilgos wears a mask at all times, a takeover from the ways of the Wu Jen mystics he trained under in his youth. He was told by them that for them, to become a master was to lose all identity, shedding name and body, becoming only mind, one with the elements. He's kept his name, as memory as his brother's tyranny, but kept the mask as well, as a memory of the masters who trained him, and the beginning of his path.
