Profile

Starling is one of Jackdaw's numerous siblings, one of the younger ones. Since many of Starling's older siblings, Jackdaw included, had already done a lot to support their family and make their younger siblings' lives easier, Starling was actually able to go to school and study in their youth, especially displaying skills in maths and just in general understanding how things work. It almost looked like Starling could actually get a Respectable Job outside the Shackles, being an accountant or something similar, but then it all changed when Starling found a weird black rooster one night. Starling didn't quite understand what happened, but they realised that after their encounter with the rooster, they could suddenly cast spells, as if the rooster was a conduit for something that was giving them powers. Excited, Starling took the rooster as their familiar and named it Captain Hookbeak. Starling had always admired their older sister Jackdaw and their adventures (being given quite a polished picture of her adventures), so Starling decided to follow in their sister's footsteps and become a Pathfinder, too!

Starling is a sweet, kind and caring young tengu with two major flaws - wild imagination, and disproportionate trust for other people.
They are intelligent and kind, but they are awful at reading people, and genuinely believe there's good in everyone. They specialize in healing magic, and won't hesitate helping anyone in need. Sometimes they learn not to trust everyone the hard way. Sometimes their own trust shields them from that. But who could ever take advantage of them? That'd be mean.
Though they're helpful, Starling mostly tries to keep away from trouble and if situation looks dire, save themselves instead of pulling a heroic sacrifice.
