Prickly and haughty, Briar doesn't play well with others. She considers herself a one-mon army and has high expectations of herself. She's highly competent, bordering on overqualified for her job, intelligent and hardworking - but she's also the most frustrating, rude and unfriendly member of the Police Force.
She's too good at her job to be fired, but she walks on thin ice with her superiors because of how explosive her temper is. She frequently blows up at coworkers and detainees alike, occasionally breaking furniture. For this reason she works with Kye and Paisley, two kind and mellow individuals capable of keeping her under wraps. They're the only two officers who can stand her for an extended period of time.
Briar absolutely hates being told what to do, and on any such occasion she will brutally rebel against authority - this explains the long ear feathers, too, as she refuses to have them trimmed just because she's female. She can't stand the mindlessness of a soldier or subordinate, thanks to her loathe for apathy and carelessness. Despite this, she's also immensely driven and will do anything in her power to rise to the top of the ladder - including stepping on her coworkers and allies. She's so ruthless that she's had teammates turn on her and put her in her place several times, though she never seems to learn.
She continues to believe that she's the only one capable of truly doing any good, and doesn't trust anybody else with the fate of the world around her. Despite how she behaves, Briar actually possesses a huge heart and a love for the innocent people of the world. She strives to protect them and keep them safe, but anybody who tries to get in the way of this goal, or who backstabs her or offends her personally, becomes the unfortunate object of her hatred and wrath.As focused on work as she is, she also has a tendency to focus only on work and nothing else. This state of hyperfocus mean she's unable to properly socialize and often forgets (or is unable) to perform basic housetasks and self-care. She doesn't relax until her job is completely finished, and she will obsess about every tiny detail until she is satisfied.
Despite this perfectionist approach to her work, she doesn't put much effort into herself personally aside from training. She will hand in a perfectly fine-tuned report on all the outlaws apprehended the week before, while simultaneously showing up to work in one of her husband's oversized winter sweaters as opposed to her uniform. Though she appears to be casual and laid-back because of this, she sees herself above everybody else and will make sure others hold her to the same standards.Briar loves to be in control of a situation, in charge of every detail. When she is not, she gets frustrated and angry. She excels in leadership roles, though only if her subordinates are up to par and can deal with her surgeon-like precision. Because most people can't, in fact, stand her, she often ends up working alone, and has gotten used to doing so as a result.
As a subordinate, Briar will put up a fight for anything - even if it's just for the sake of putting up a fight. She hates to obey mindlessly, and will retaliate viciously to any attempts to control her. She makes sure her superiors know that she's many times more competent than they give her credit for.Her self-confidence makes her somewhat cocky, always feeling like she can deal with the situation... or feeling like she's the only one who can deal with said situation. However, she can also be immensely selfless, putting herself at risk in order to protect those she's promised to look after. She's unable to standby when she senses foul play, and will almost always step in. Briar is also somewhat of an eccentric, loving dark, depressing themes - she's a fan of sad music, Gothic fashion and, in short, anything edgy. She greatly approves of Dark- and Ghost-types, provided that they behave themselves.As a result she'll often remark that the world isn't worth saving or that she hates people - truthfully, she's just tired of the problems in the world and seeks to solve them as efficiently as she can.

Trivia - Smacks things when she's angry, and as a result tends to break things when she's displeased. - Doesn't take advice. In fact, when she can, she does the opposite of the suggested advice in order to spite the person, unless she genuinely cares about the person giving the advice. - Mutters to herself when she's restless - Briar physically cannot relax until she has all her work done. She will be constantly restless as long as she has something on her mind. The quickest way for Briar to relax is simply to get closure for a situation. - She often wears Kye's big, comfortable sweaters. They're way too big for her and often fall down to her knees and give her a goofy, cutesy look. She, of course, doesn't care about this. - Due to being an Ice-Type, Briar can't touch things above a certain temperature, and can radiate cold if she so desires. - Functions best when she's a little frustrated, but not furious. Frustration reminds her that she still cares, and gives her the motivation she needs to work harder. - Briar has a very hard time dealing with failiure. She will constantly beat up on herself, getting more and more frustrated until she finally manages to complete what she set out to do. She will spend years hating herself for something she failed to do years and years ago. |

Briar loves her partner and husband Kye very much, but has a very strange way of showing it. Kye acts as Briar's impulse control, keeping her in check when she's at risk for losing her temper and causing a problem. In many ways, Kye is the only reason Briar has a job at all. If Kye were in danger, Briar would be the first to ensure his safety, and she'd be willing to sacrifice herself in order to do so.
Paisley
Partner
Paisley's good nature and mild temperament make her one of the few 'mons on the force who can put up with Briar with genuine nonchalance. In some w ays, Briar hates it, but in other ways she appreciates it. Briar finds Paisley somewhat cute, and tolerates her shenanigans more than those of other Pokemon. Luckily, Paisley is very good at following orders, but doesn't do it blindly, making her a good match for Briar.

Victoria frustrates Briar to no end, and the latter hates to be assigned to the same town as Victoria. Briar feels that the Serperior's cold nature is going to be the downfall of everything she has worked to achieve in Wish Town.
Soraya
Friend
Briar finds Soraya to be a convincing young Vulpix, and knew her since very early on in her career. She would trust Soraya with everything, but doesn't quite approve of her motives.
Miles
Friend
Briar occasionally depends on Miles for assistance in her line of work. She knew Miles for a long time, and admires his tenacity and hardworking spirit. She would do what she can to keep him and his family safe.
Midge
Complicated
Though Briar knew Midge for many years and owes part of her career to him, she hardly tolerates him. She knows him as one of Kye's drinking buddies, and would rather not associate with him. It certainly doesn't help that he finds it amusing to tease her despite her blatant disinterest in him.

Briar prefers not to associate with Everest when she can avoid it, finding him petty and witless. In short, not worth her time.
