The Crowned Beast

The keeper of the crown in a faraway land, the Crowned Beast dwells deep in the bowels of an ancient palace.  After the death of the ruler, the heir must retrieve the crown from the neck of this creature; if it judges them a worthy leader it will allow them to take it without a fuss.  If the Crowned Beast does not approve of them, however, they will be lucky to escape with their life.  Its jewel-like scales are capable of repelling even the sharpest blade, and while its claws are deadly, it is peaceful at all other times.

After the new monarch’s coronation, the crown must be returned, lest it leave its den to take back its charge.

Design Notes

• Size is variable, but about equivalent to a medium-sized dog.
• Fur and blue scales are lightly shiny.  Red, green and gold scales and their horns are metallic.
• Has long neck and a body type like a deer.  Has taloned front feet and hoofed back feet.
• Designed by myself (J-Haskell) back in sometime 2017-2018 ish.
