B orn into poverty, living in the slums of vinbonne, from a young age maddox aspired for more. for this reason, he took the first opportunity that came to him to better his life: sprite bounty hunting. his line of work is majorly frowned upon in faerendell, but pays very well.
he bases his work out of a tavern on the outskirts of vinbonne, where he prefers to lurk in the shadowed corner and wait for new bounties to come to him. his profession is surprisingly coveted on the black market, as there are many uses for sprites’ energy—not that he’s particularly interested in them, so long as his bounties are paid in full.
maddox takes no prisoners and makes no allegiances, not even to other bounty hunters or mercenaries, instead leading a life of solitude. he spends no more time than necessary speaking to others, and is very blunt with his words. he is a very hardy fable and is very much capable of handling himself in a fight. in fact, no one wants to miss a payment or wrong him in any way, for fear of his wrath turned in their direction.
physically, maddox is incredibly strong. his body is conditioned from seasons of work and his willpower and patience are too. he does, however, find it difficult to forgive once wronged and holds grudges like no other, especially after being lied to.
- many of the sprite souls maddox sells on the black market after reaping them make their way to thalorian construct crafters, who imbue them into their creations to bring them to life.
- though he’s quite definitely the silent type, maddox has always been a fan of music. though he doesn't play himself, he always appreciates a good tune and is known to tip the tavern musicians well at the end of the night.
maddox was born with rather strong necromancy magic, which pertains to draining the life force of others. his magic can work on any living being, but has a particularly strong influence on sprites. in his lifetime, he has also picked up a bit of moderate strength aura manipulation magic, specifically in the sense of energy containment and influencing.
