Profile

Name: Ake Burton

Age: Mid 30s

Height: 5'8" by Earth standards but just short of 6" in comparison to the native flora and fauna of the world she fights to survive in.

Species: Genetic Chimera

Appearance: physically Ake looks like a mix of human with Iberian and Eurasian lynx and a lion like tail and a mix of spots and stripes. The blue color of her hair and tail tuft are a result of the radiation treatments to the DNA that was used to create her.

Notes on her anatomy:

• Her hands are more more human than animal having no pads. The fur is just thinner on her palms. Sort of how rodent hands are.

• Her feet are plantigrade (walks on heel and ball of foot) and, like her hands, do not have actual pads. Her fur is much thinner on the soles of her feet and she has four toes similar to a cat's.

• Her arms, legs, and torso are all distinctly humanoid but covered in a short coat of fur.

Build: lean but toned

Bio:  Born into an alien world, Ake's earliest memories are of the insides of cages. Her mother was human. An Earthling in fact. Although she was only Intended as a host to carry the chimera to birth, and even though Ake was far from human, she seemed to love the chimera anyway. Unfortunately Ake's time with her mother was fleeting. Within a year Ake was strong enough to walk, feed herself, and understand human speech.

This was also when her world radically changed.

Her mother was forced to show Ake to their keepers. Her creators.

They looked every part human save for one thing. Their size.  They were easily twelve times the size of Ake's mother.

That day Ake was unceremoniously separated from the only parental figure she had ever known, never to see her again. Her initial terror at being faced with her creators was slowly replaced by disdain for them.

For the next twelve years Ake was treated as nothing but an animal being trained to kill. She was fitted with a collar equipped with GPS tracking as well as a remotely triggered electro shock mechanism.  With a combination of electro shock and other painful training techniques,  Ake's animalistic instincts were honed as her keepers desired. She was created for the sole purpose to hunt down and kill a group of aliens not unlike her own mother.

Finally the day came. She was taken deep into the woods and released, her purpose clear. The second she had the chance, she darted off into the underbrush.

She set out to fulfill her purpose but before long she learned the hard way that her keepers weren't the only things so much larger than herself. She found herself having to fend off rats and run away from the likes of hawks and cats.

Tired from a day of fleeing for her life, Ake found an old collapsed drain pipe and hid herself away inside hoping to avoid the horrific beasts that lurked at night.

Shaking, she was unable to control herself and began sobbing, burying her face into her arms. She hadn't liked the idea of her purpose. She didn't want to kill anything or anyone. Now she knew her creators would punish her for not completing her task. She knew it was not something she would be able to accomplish. Not with these massive beasts roaming about.

Her sobbing attracted the attention of the very aliens she was created to kill. They approached with caution as she was not something they were accustomed to seeing even in this world.

When she did finally notice the two men she was startled, even with all the training she'd been through, she now found herself flattened against the crushed metal wall of the pipe, hissing in fear. Fear of the very beings she was sent to kill.

They spoke to each other then to her but dhe didn't hear them. Her mind was racing, jumbled thoughts fought for her attention until her collar suddenly struck her with the electric shock she had forgotten would come as a reminder of her goal.

She jerked and screamed, clawing at the collar she hated. Her constant reminder that she was nothing more than a slave to the monsters that brought her into this world. She slumped to the floor of the pipe, panting, drained of energy from the painful reminder wrapped around her neck. As her vision returned she found a hand offered toward her by the one in red. She was shocked at the friendly gesture and far too tired to reject the offer of help.

They helped her to a sort of makeshift camp in the hollow of a tree where she was given a warm place to sleep.

For several days she traveled with the two men. Learning how they went about surviving in such a world. The longer she stayed with these strangers the more she felt that the reason for her existence was wrong. These weren't the alien invaders bent on world domination as she'd been told but instead were only struggling to survive while trying desperately to find a way home.

It had only been a week since they had found her in that drainpipe but she almost dared to think of them as friends. They were headed toward their main camp when she stopped them and told them everything she knew about her very existence.  She didn't want to lead the monsters that created her to these people who had been nothing but kind to her.

While she expected them to become angry and shun her, she was shocked to find them more interested in helping her remove the collar so she could be truely free.

The project took several hours but Ake sighed in relief when she felt the weight of the collar fall from her neck. She revelled in the knowledge that she'd never feel a shock from the collar again.

Days turned to weeks, weeks into months, and months into years. In that time she had become attached to all the humans in the group. They had given her something she hadn't had before. A family of sorts. She had a bit stronger of a bond with the leader of the group, so much so she adopted his surname and preferred to wear the clothes he had given her above all the others.

Through the years the group thinned. Some from age others from illness. Luckily none ever from capture though they had all collectively had many close calls.

It's been five years since the last of the group had perished and though Ake has grown lonely she still continues the struggle to survive and find a way to get to Earth even though it would be just as alien a world to her as the one she was born into.
