Backstory

Childhood: Raised in the cult. Lived in her sister Tahiri’s shadow. Struggled for approval. Was devout but questioned everything. Afraid of becoming a hybrid-breeder. Developed an eating disorder. Very close to Tahiri.

Connection to Tahiri: Once her closest companion. The betrayal shattered Jasmen. She believed Tahiri abandoned her and their father. Their betrayal radicalized her.

Rise to Power: Became leader after their father’s death. Initially used by the priests, but overthrew them with cunning. Assumed full control by age 17. Became feared and revered.

Relationship to Rouna: Obsessive. Believes Rouna is the only remaining family and key to salvation. Projects her own guilt and hopes onto Rouna. Wants to “save” them through the cult.
