Vivaldi

Vivaldi can be a bit of a mess, but he has a heart of gold and the diplomatic skills to back it up, having special talents for appealing to one's better nature and finding compromises, especially. He can be rather easy to catch off-guard and often finds himself stumbling over his words, but he treats everyone with kindness and compassion and goes out of his way to help others, even at his own expense. Vivaldi suffers from self-esteem issues and often underestimates what he's capable of, struggling to see why people think highly of him. He believes kindness should be the expectation, not the exception, which, while a strong belief to have, often leads him to diminish his own accomplishments in that regard by treating them as the bare minimum. Because of this, he doesn't always see how much of a positive impact he has on those around him.

Vivaldi places high expectations on himself and can be quite hard on himself when he doesn't meet those expectations. Concerns about this have been addressed many times by those around him, and while he knows he shouldn't do it, old habits die hard and he still slips back into that behaviour, especially when overcome with negative emotions. When it's especially bad, it can even prevent him from believing the good things others tell him. Outside of those overwhelmingly negative moments, he thrives on positive affirmation from others and holds onto every kind word he recieves, even writing them down in a ledger of things he should be proud of.

Vivaldi was gifted with a mutation from a smaller aura quartz early in his life: blinding aura. As the name implies, he radiates a beautiful light at all times that cannot be deactivated, often compared to a beacon, and while staring directly at him for extended periods is ill-advised, looking at him casually is usually safe for one's vision. A number of friends have considered the possibility that the aura quartz gave him this mutation in response to his radiant kindness, shining like a light in the darkness, both literally and metaphorically.
