Vent the Android

The origins of "Vent" are unclear and disputed.
Especially by himself. He doesn't know how he came into existence,
and while he used to have a fixation on it he decided to put it behind him
in favour of focusing on the here and now.

Or, at least, that was the idea.

STAGE 0

STAGE 1

basic notes:

• discovered by Double after destroying a GUN lab that was actually the base of operations for an Egg Boss that was using his connections to GUN as cover, had damaged himself severely and had his memory corrupted beyond repair
• Double, fascinated by the strange technology and the challenge of fixing the android up, took him home and managed to get him functional, at which point Vent's auto-repair was able to kick in
• Vent has no idea who he is or where he's from or Anything other than an underlying feeling that Something Is Wrong
• Double kept him hidden from everybody (asides from Copy), Vent got bored and used his liquid metal shapeshifting to take on an organic disguise (after swearing to the Dallases that he would not let anyone know about his true identity in any circumstances)
• a couple years later, he found Aile after the otter escaped and was hiding in a hotel while getting his shit together, brought him back to Double's house after promising that Team Comeback would be able to help
• was the only succesful result of "Project Overlord": roboticizing kidnapped mobians and giving them the liquid metal abilities of Neo Metal Sonic + Gizoid ability copying (as an upgrade from NMS's own)
• ...although he wasnt kidnapped, he was sold out to the eggman empire by a friend in his "previous life" who genuinely thought she was helping :,) fuck

• after like a WHOLE LOT of plot stuff, there's like an entire oc-centric arc with team comeback vs the scientist behind project overlord, Vent self-destructs to completely annihilate every trace of Brenlo's research + Brenlo himself
• team comeback takes this Really badly
• [double voice] wait, hold on. we can rebuild him. WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY
• vent gets rebuilt! as, like, an actual android, not a roboticized mobian. this means that his pre-project self is Completely Dead though bc vent still has no like... direct memory of being him, and pretty much has nothing in common with him asides from his shades (which were given to him by Tru at some point). and even if he got de-roboticized somehow he wouldn't like, Be Evan, he'd just be Vent Except Squishy
• er. different kind of squishy. vent is kind of squishy? NOT LIKE IN A GROSS WAY he's a Soft Robot
• it's got like some big huge impact but Vent doesnt actually care too much, like the rest of team comeback is worried about how he'll react to that news but he's just "oh, that sucks. can i still shoot things?"
• (the answer is yes, he can)
