Name: Dahleen, Ms. Darling

Gender: Female

Personality: Creative, ambitious, calculating, overachiever, mysterious, extravagant

Background: Dahleen started as an apprentice in a dress maker's shop, following patterns and instructions from her mentor. She had always loved fashion and kept a keen eye on trends and the market, but always felt there was more that could be done-something spectacular to add that was missing-and would try to give suggestions to her mentor to better the shop to appeal to more clients. However, her ideas were seen as too wild for the standard customer who wouldn't dare dress in things so fantastic in their everyday wear, and they were often shot down. Her strong drive to succeed and deep commitment to fashion was very obvious despite those "crazy" ideas, and she was soon hired as a full time assistant. Though her ideas for gowns and other garments were never considered, it was clear she had a talent with fashion and sewing, and could complete her tasks faster than any of the other workers in the shop, and to a higher level of quality-regardless of arm count. She continued work as an assistant, gradually taking on more and more responsibilities for her boss, while her ideas remained pushed to the side. At one point, she realized she was basically running the entire business by herself, and was getting next to no credit for it, just more work and her ideas to better the shop-and fashion world-continually shot down.

So she left, and opened her own shop-boutique rather. She hired no additional staff, confident she could manage the work on her own, and set off to making her own creations for once. Her talent and vision was quickly noticed by the fashion world, almost as soon as she started selling her own pieces. Before she knew it, she had orders coming in, celebrities after her designs, runways begging for shows of her collections, everyone wanted to interview her and know just how Ms. Darling (as she took to calling herself) came to be-and what kept her from the fashion world for so long. And she loved it.

Rumor and speculation began to surface following this success, inquiring just where the money suddenly came from to open her own shop, suggesting a potential tie with some criminal organization that was willing to front the money and help with all the networking and business ends of her creative field. Some found it hard to believe she was capable of managing a business and making all the products on her own. Dahleen has been quick to brush off these claims as nothing more than whisper campaigns from her competition, in jealous attempts to discredit her independence, hard work, and success. Adding, perhaps someone feels cheated from fame and wealth by letting her slip away from them-they shouldn't have stifled her. And, if they applied themselves, and worked as hard as she did, perhaps they could reach a fraction of her level of success. She assures no supernatural powers were at work either, though no claims had previously been made, of course leading to more rumor.

Her massive fan base doesn't seem to pay much mind to these attempts at defaming her, and continue to support her and her over the top, but marvelous fashion pieces. Some have even taking to poking fun at the rumors, referring to her and the fanbase as the "fashion mob," though most just prefer to call themselves "darlings."
