"This blade can only be wielded by those chosen by the goddess! Do you understand what it means to have it raised against you?"
BACKSTORY
The eternal darkness of Tenesoir can hide some pretty nasty secrets. Eyron learned this when he was very young, and his family was part of a group of travelers that was besieged by thieves. The group lucked out, because a squadron of templars was headed the opposite way on that road, and happened to pass by the crime in progress. Their swift and decisive intervention motivated Eyron to follow in their footsteps. When he was ready, he traveled to the Grand Church, the Order of Scintilla's main headquarters and capital of the continent of Prismae.
Were it not for the templars, Eyron would have likely ended up a fisherman in the coastal town of Diria. But his years of angling weren't for naught; all those years of casting gave him a deft sword hand. Combined with the magically light broadswords of the templars, Eyron is a natural for the rank and file templars. But trouble begins to brew after he botches a raid on the mansion of a heretic by running too far ahead of the rest of his group. This isn't the first or last time she evades his capture, either, leading to a bit of a grudge between the two.
PERSONALITY
Eyron's head is filled with the stories of heroes, both local legends and the tales of valor passed among the templars. It's an ideal he maybe tries a little too hard to live up to. Eyron gladly rushes into trouble, sword at the ready, even if he's getting in over his head. To be fair, this impulsive bravado has helped far more than hindered things. (Even that failed raid helps things in the long run, albeit in ways too complex to go over here.) Truth be told, Eyron simply hates staying still, and it's this desire to stay active that makes him so effective.
However, Eyron's a very black-and-white thinker. He loves the Order of Scintilla and all it purports to stand for, so any questionable orders or decisions from on high are dismissed with a simple "well, they must have a reason". Conversely, if the Order outlaws something or brands someone as a target for arrest or exile, he trusts the judgment wholeheartedly. There's no way he could doubt the Order he's come to love and depend on so much. The one thing he doesn't abide, though, is the rivalry some of the templars try to stir up with the more secular Night Watch, a brigade of volunteer explorers and survivalists. Sometimes their mission of protecting the people overlaps with the Order's, and Eyron is more than happy to accept their help.
