Backstory: Tarkik has been a skilled healer for  years - in fact, they are trained in both modern medicine and natural  remedies. If Tarkik needs to be in an operating room, they can even  sterilize their fur; they don't even have to wear gloves.
One day,  Clifford (a best friend of Klaus Weber, who discovered Seltsamers) had a  heart attack. Klaus knew and trusted Tarkik to save him, so he was  immediately sent in to have open heart surgery - Tarkik did most of it.  Unfortunately, the surgery failed - Clifford died in the process.  (Clifford later became known as Sekkai.. but that's another story.)

will likely be distancing them from the seltsamer species, they would make a great plague doctor though!
