Backstory:

Ilmyra was born into a clan of Drow that live in the Underdark, and pillaged and murdered surface dwellers. She was trained to be a warrior, and didn't go on a raid until she was 18. On her first raid, the villagers were nowhere to be found. The raiding team was baffled, and searched the town. Eventually Ilmyra discovered a trapdoor that led to a bunker, where all the villagers were hiding. While the villagers brandished their weapons, Ilmyra heard crying, and saw a frightened mother with her children. She couldn't bring herself to hurt the villagers, and told her superiors that there was nothing in the house she found the trapdoor in. A week later, she ran away. She decided to check in on the village quietly, just to make sure they were alright. She came in the middle of the night so she wouldn't be noticed, but she didn't anticipate there being a night watch. The night watch noticed her, but instead of reacting in fear and hostility as she had expected, the watch looked overjoyed. They were overwhelmingly thankful for her protecting them, and they offered her a place to stay when they found out she had ran away. In the village there was a temple dedicated to the goddess of the moon Selûne. The clerics taught her about the goddess, and she trained to become a paladin serving Selûne. Years later, she decided to explore the world, as most of her life she had been in the Underdark. She starts off her life on the road when she picks up a small job she found out about in a city...
