Iris is a deity that protects a sacred meadow handed down by her late mother, the previous Water Goddess. She was given her mother's stone, her source of life and prowess, after her death due to unfortunate events. The stone possessed great power, and it has the ability to summon rain, control water and even nature when it is maximized.
Iris, grew bitter and full of grief because she has lost so much in life; her mother, a friend, a lover, trust and all hope for happiness. Thus, the stone mirrored her inner feelings, full of pain and grew thorns to protect her from harm, just like how she made her heart out of ice, not wanting to love again because she would end up getting hurt. Every time she will remember her painful past, tears would always flow down her cheeks which would make it rain very frequently in the sacred meadow. Hence, the sacred meadow is known as 'The Meadow of Endless Rain'.
