Life quickly went down for the two boys from this point. Joe was highly abusive emotionally, psychologically, and most of all physically. He got drunk often, and would argue with Viktor often over the smallest things, which often led to violence against him. Joe and Josefina were also highly neglectful, and refused to pay for Dee's medical bills, which were urgent because he had signs of possible COPD that could not yet be diagnosed. And so, Viktor had to find a job as soon as he turned 16 to pay for this. 

With such harsh times falling upon him, Viktor grew quiet, distracted, and as his grades dropped, he had to be let go of the football team. His teammates kept in contact with him, as they valued him greatly, but his popularity soon dropped off entirely. He grew quiet, aloof, serious, tired and started to look more unkempt. His hair grew long and unruly, and he began to show up covered in scars and bruises that he dismissed as part of his training at home and his work at a werehouse. It was around this time where many seemed to forget him that he grew ever closer to his friend, Gigi, finding himself strangely attracted to the boy's side every day, and not being able to get him off his mind... and it was also when he discovered why Gigi was so severely bullied. Not only was Gigi a strange kid obsessed with aliens, videogames, and conspiracy theories, but he was born intersex. He had a very feminine physique, with a small frame, little to no body hair, a feminine voice that he worked hard to suppress, had started to grow breasts, yet he had male genitalia. When his body began to develop, and as his breasts began to show, he has begun to bind it, but was one day discovered by the bullies in the locker room without his binder. They began to harass him relentlessly for it. This infuriated Viktor, who realized how wrong and disgusting it was for Gigi to be bullied for such a thing, and began to grow more defensive of his friend. This landed him in hot water when he began to get in violent fights with his bullies, and ended up getting both himself and Gigi beat and bloodied more than once... and one day, when he pissed off the bullies enough, they followed Viktor home, showing off how they had armed themselves with knives. Falling into a panic, Viktor dug out his uncle's hunting rifle, gathered all his anger and his courage, and chased them away one by one with the weapon, firing a couple of warning shots close enough to terrify the bullies. This... resulted in very nasty rumors spreading about Viktor at school, and for his uncle's abuse to grow tenfold. 

With a now ruined reputation at school, and many fearing Viktor, he decided that staying in town after graduation was not a great idea. Taking on a second job, he began to save up for the costs of moving out and buying himself an RV while he figured out the rest. He also grew incredibly close to Gigi, not realizing that he had fallen in love with his best friend... and it had began to make him want to stay with him, but... Everything changed one day, when Viktor had only recently turned 19, and his uncle's neglect of Dee had nearly cost Dee's life. He had to be taken urgently to the hospital, and while Dee struggled to stay alive in the ER, Viktor had the displeasure of discovering his uncle had purposefully ignored Dee as he suffered in hopes to get rid of him. This caused Viktor to blow into a frenzy and violently attack his uncle. He was stopped by Richard, who had been called to the scene, and when Viktor informed him of his uncle's intentions, Joe was detained for investigation, and Viktor was promised custody of his brother. Richard also helped Viktor finish paying for the RV, gave him his old truck to pull it, and enough money for him to leave with Dee and find some place to settle.

Viktor lived on the road for a while, taking jobs here and there to pay for his and his brother's living, and looking for a place to settle down. He had kept in contact with Gigi, who had moved out himself and had offered to house him, but Viktor refused to go back to his home town. Gigi started a business unknown to Viktor, but he gave Viktor some money and gigs once in a while to help him out.

Around this time, Viktor found a small town that seemed welcoming and in which he could afford to settle down for a while. He found a place to rent, enrolled Dee in school, and found a job there at a local grocery store. He worked nights, stocking and cleaning, and it was here that he began to form a bond with his boss, Braun Bronson. The two hit it off quite well, and Braun began to invite Viktor to hang out with him and the other workers at their weekend getaways. Small vacations, cookouts, bowling alley, dinners, and other events that Viktor grew to enjoy. He got surprisingly well with his coworkers, and despite his boss being almost twice his age... He developed a crush on him. He was an attactive, charming man in his 40s, and Viktor was a lovestarved, naive 22 year old who had been forced to grow up too fast. While the relationship was certainly unconventional, Braun reciprocated his feelings, and the two started a relationship. While Viktor expected the relationship to be secret, as growing up in the south had not proven to be too friendly towards LGBT+ folk,.. But to his surprise, not only did Braun announce their relationship proudly to all he knew, but was receiving overwhelming love and support from everyone in the small town. Braun was a highly beloved and respected member of their community, and no one in the town ever seemed to have a single ill word to speak about him. Braun held respect and much power in the town, and he was happy to use it to make Viktor feel important and loved by everyone there. Viktor also grew a close bond with Christie, Braun's daughter, who became like a sister to Dee, and was beloved by him and Viktor as family. 

Things were not all as it seemed however, as Viktor began to realize something was off about the whole thing. The whole town respected and loved Braun, yes, but it seemed almost as if they followed him as a leader or almost seemed to worship him! And when Braun proposed to Viktor that he "joined" them and became "One of them", Viktor had began to suspect he was part of some kind of cult... But he was not expecting the truth of the situation. One night, as Braun seduced Viktor and they were in the middle of a highly passionate moment, Braun began to turn into what Viktor had never even imagined could ever be real. Braun transformed into a werewolf in front of his eyes, and before Viktor could even accept Braun's offer, Braun bit him, and held him down as he began to feel his body contort and change in ways he could not even begin to process. Viktor however, managed to escape his grasp and run back home. There, he found Christie had stopped by to drop off some things, and both her and Dee witnessed as Viktor began to turn into a werewolf himself. Christie, who had been born lycan herself, did her best to help him, but upon discovering he had been turned against his will, Christie grew horrified.
Soon, Braun arrived with his clan, and revealed that everything Viktor knew about him was a facade. He had only been with Viktor to make him part of his clan, as he saw him as a powerful heir to his position, revealing he never believed Christie would have been a fit leader. Now, he wanted Viktor to stay, and he was gonna have that happen no matter what. Either Viktor stayed as his trophy husband, or he would kill him where he stood. 

Viktor, feeling utterly betrayed, used, and realizing how his life had become a living nightmare,  fought back. Then,with the help of Christie, who had heard the whole thing while hiding from her father, escaped in his old RV along with Dee. He escaped the town, driving without a clear direction of where he was going, and fearing for the life of him and his young brother.

In the werewolf AU, Viktor is currently back living on the road, raising Dee on his own, and working for Gigi. He is pretty much a loan shark at times, and a delivery man at others. Gigi pays well, and with Gigi knowing now of Viktor's powers, trusts him with only the most dangerous jobs, which Viktor happily takes knowing that now only something as specific as a silver bullet can take him down. He has grown ever closer to Gigi, forming what could be considered a friends with benefits relationship with him, and has trained himself to control his lycan form as best as possible. 

When Viktor discovered that his cousin, Kendall, was born a lycan creature himself, he grew closer to him, and discovered a close, helpful network with Dee, Kendall, Cherry and Gigi (Along with the still very present and very active "imaginary friend" he had since childhood, which he believed now to be a vivid hallucination). He also met Gibson Gaster, Cherry's uncle and Richard's most trusted ally, who taught him much of the supernatural world, and helped him gain control of his powers and his new nature. 

Viktor has also discovered with the help of Gigi and Dee that his "hallucination" may be way more than that. From what they've been able to discover, said hallucination may actually be the spirit of his deceased twin brother, Ciris. Viktor is not exactly sure, but what he does know is that he owes Ciris his life after he saved him many times by warning him about dangers, and keeping him sane when his PTSD would kick in on the road. He had been with him since childhood, always helping him, always supporting him, and seeing as how Viktor was the only one who could see or hear him, their bond had grown extremely tight.
