my nonbinary mary sue. they/it. korean & thai (for the parts of it that are human). vessel, prophet, bad at being alive.
disorganized story beats below ↓↓↓
- they were created by the two leaders of a new religious movement through supernatural means. those two leaders considered them their child, but ended up abandoning them when they were ~8, due to getting arrested for massive amounts of embezzlement
- they kind of bounce around between caretakers after that, all former members of the NRM. generally theyre fine but pretty distant. it's not a human child, which helps most people avoid getting more attached than they want to be.
- they become independent pretty quickly and get their own identity papers in order, doing their best to be unremarkable and unknown. it ages very slowly once it's an adult, though it's kind of wise beyond its years
- they do their best to just forget about their origins and the fact that they aren't human. they can't keep a job for long but they have minimal needs, they're very adrift in life
- they meet a middle-aged engineer at one of their jobs, his name is Benjamin. he doesn't seem phased by their weirdness and is willing to teach them whatever technical skills so they stick with him for a while. they mention their current living situation at some point and he offers them a place to stay... turns out he's super lonely, he's been disowned by his family and while he's been able to make ends meet he struggles a lot with his mental health. they become good friends and it opens up a little about its own rough start to life.
- Nobody except their parents, who have no way to find them if they're even alive, know that they've got a *lot* more supernatural traits that just haven't come to the surface yet. and having a close relationship with someone and actually feeling safe triggers some of that. they don't know what's happening! and it freaks them and ben out a lot.
- there is some sort of incident that lead's to benjamin's accidental death and them fleeing. they blame themself but they don't really get to do a lot of grief processing because this is when the Big Thing really comes into play. more and more they just know things- it's been happening almost all their life, but becoming exponentially more powerful until.. they're virtually omnipotent. past, present, and future- it's all there. and it fucking sucks.
- outwardly they can still pass as a normal person usually but sometimes they start to glow and have haloes and levitate and shit. you know how it is.
