Gardening

She's loved plants since she was little and her grandfather ran a florist shop. His green thumb passed onto her and she can practically revive anything. It made her go into thr science/biology field as well.

Sewing

She learned to sew bows out of old clothes as a kid because she wanted to wear them. Her husband buys them for her now. She could sew clothes now with her skills at least.

Parenting

She has too many kids right now which she didn't expect, but she always wanted at least one before and has the patience and compassion to be a kind mother. The oldest voluntarily help her with the youngest ones too so it's not that stressful.

Positive Traits

She's an incredibly selfless person who does her best to care for others and put their needs before her own, and it's always appreciated. She's very smart and collected as well, humble. The way she carries herself makes her very approachable.

Neutral Traits

She's always been too positive, which motivates herself and others, but for herself she may push her limits and waste her effort in the end. There'll be false positivity that'll hurt her at the end than if she decided to give up early on. It's rare at least.

Negative Traits

She's used to having others rely on her, and enjoys it, so she doesn't ask others for help until it gets bad. In a way she's secretive about her problems to not worry others, but her health is important since it's unpredictable. Only her husband can tell if she's pushing herself too much and makes her take a break.

Enemies

Maybe there's some rival florist shop who knows. She has no specific enemies that she's aware of.

The following contains mentions of health complications

Elodie first grew up in Finland with her parents and extended family nearby. Her childhood involved a lot of moving, but she’s always considered it exciting, expecting to always see the same people in her life regardless. During her early years, her grandparents watched her grow up happily, often interested in her grandfather’s work with plants. Seeing as she was good at nurturing them herself, she wanted a future with them. When she moved away from her grandparents’ rural town to a German city, her health began to decline.

Having a weak immune system, she ended up missing many days of school and repeating a few grades. She decided it’d be for the best to study from home and join the other students later on, boarding at a private middle/high school once eligible so traveling wouldn’t tire her. Still, she’d visit her family on the weekends or if she began to feel ill. On the days she’d try to walk back to school when she couldn’t be dropped off, she’d run into a boy at a neighboring school who offered to give her bike rides whenever. Appreciative, the two became friends and eventually began to date.

Into her early adulthood, Elodie married Zahir, and pursued a degree in biology. She was watchful of her health at all times, quick to notice when she had become pregnant. At first it was a great surprise, with the couple doing well and Zahir open to adapt to the changes. But after multiple trips to the doctor, Elodie learned she wouldn’t be able to carry without complications for both parties. Due to this, she made the heavy decision to not become a mother, falling into a deep depression over the outcome.

During her months of recovery, she had been advised that her grandfather was going to pass away, but aware of what had happened to his granddaughter, he wanted to entrust her with most of his livelihood. When he passed, the shop he ran was hers, figuring that moving back to her childhood town may improve her health. Although she would be missed, her husband knew the move would benefit her. He had grieved alongside her, but couldn’t leave his work, and the pair did need some distance to some degree. When he decides to visit her, it’s surprising how much she recovers, and how it comes to be.

Settling into her grandfather’s home and flower shop, Elodie finds the nostalgia refreshing. Although he’s no longer with her, she still manages to see him in the shared company of the many “Mandrakes” he leaves behind for her. Elodie remembers her grandfather never let her open a certain door in the house, but when she did anyway it was a simple coat closet at a glance. Pushing past the dusty clothes this time, there’s the presence of stairs leading downstairs.

When she ventured through, finding a bright underground garden, she discovered children with the shared DNA of her family’s genes, and of plants— Mandrakes. While a few knew her grandfather, told in advance that Elodie would be their next caretaker, there were a few that didn’t know him or 2 that had yet to sprout from pods he created. During Elodie’s stay, she was present when Taimi was officially born, raising her alongside the other mandrakes. It’d felt to her as if she had her own children to raise, but that they also cared for her likewise. While she insisted to herself that she wouldn’t bother getting children in the future, she ultimately felt better in the company of those around her. Perhaps it was her grandfather’s greatest passion that he wanted to share with her in his absence.

∙ She's fairly pale because she never really went outside much, and when she does she likes having a hat on. She's supposedly whiter when she's sick.

∙ Elodie dislikes Bikinis mostly due to her body image. After her complications being pregnant in the past, she got a scar on her abdomen that she's adamant about hiding from others.

∙ She doesn't like to exercise at all but she takes care of herself by eating properly, exlcuding meat and dairy from her diet.

∙ I didn't necessarily create her myself, I won her as a freebie adopt many many years ago! The original drawing of her is lost to time...

∙ Taimi and Milne were her only kids initially, but then I started making a lot of fruit gijinkas and liked the designs too much lol.
