Glitter

Glitter is one of the main characters of the series The Amazing Digital Circus. He's a mix of musketeer and ringmaster, who is trapped in the digital circus along with six other victims.

APPEARANCE :

Glitter is a male humanoid having his entire body being bicolored, and most specifically black and white. The parts are always neat and symmetrical. For example, his neck is black while his hands are white. His face is always symetrical, and is similar to a theatrical mask, being the entire part of his body and not an accessory. He can move his eyes and his mouth, but doesn't have any pupil, though.  Moreover, when he feels extreme positive emotions, only the white part of his face is moving, paralyzing the black part until he changes his feelings change. On the contrary, when he feels extreme negative emotions, it's the black part of his face who is moving, letting the white one paralyzed. He also wears straight, medium length-hair, being lavender on his right side, and white on his left side.

His casual clothes consists mainly of a black trousers, and a blue tailcoat, with galaxy patterns. It has two golden stripes on the end of the sleeves, and two others on the front of the bottom of the outfit. It has two big golden shoulders pads, with a button on the center of each one. The tailcoat also has three golden buttons for closing it, if needed. Under that tailcoat, Glitter wears a darker blue shirt, with the same galaxy pattern. It's closed by a golden line as well. He also wears a white bow tie, decorated with a big amethyst. He wears high blue boots, with the same pattern as his other clothes, with small darker blue heels and white reverses. He adjusts his appearance with a big blue mousketeer hat, with galaxy patterns, a black band and a massive lighter blue feather, with sparkles on it.

PERSONALITY :

Glitter is a quiet, self-confident and friendly man, who shows a very high adaptability to every situation. Even though he doesn't especially search social interactions with other members and can be hanging around the circus alone (and even outside), he easily accommodates their presence, and doesn't mind group activities. He's also very supportive, and has interest into others' activities, and gets easily invested into it, like when for example he played softball with Ragatha, or asking to see Gangle's drawings. Caring with other circus members, he's doing his best for understanding their problems and getting solutions for them, even though he doesn't succeed every time he tries. Very polite, he never swears, and never contracts his words, prefering to speak in formal sentences. He's also pretty intelligent, being able to weigh his words and quietly analyze situations.

Glitter is very optimistic and resilient, especially concerning the digital circus. Coping with the situation much better than other members, he's enjoying it a lot. Cold-blooded and fearless due to his soldier background, almost nothing can make him lose his mind, and make him yell or break down. Adrenaline addict, Glitter adores Caine's adventures, especially the crazy ones with twisted scenarios. He loves thrills and actions they give to him, and is always 100% involved in each of them. 

Another personality trait Glitter has, is his very strong passion for Caine. He has a powerful fascination and love for him, being very thankful for having " getting him out of his miserable life, and entertaining him day after day with his adventures". He also has a lot of empathy and softness for the ringmaster, finding all his efforts for avoiding abstration to his guests very appreciable. However, Glitter is also very concerned by Caine's relationships with other members, and how these last seems to dislike him, and even for some antagonize him. He struggles to understand their reasons, in spite he very hardly tries. Due to this lack of thankfulness and consideration of other members towards Caine, Glitter is very concerned about how it can possibly affects Caine's mental health, and can destroy the circus, on a way or another. However, he refuses to explicitly oppose to other members, afraid to start conflicts into the circus, to worsen the global ambiance, and optionally, to be put aside. At every conflict between Caine and other members, Glitter uses to not say anything, even though it hurts his self-ego to not defend his interests. However, he frequently contacts Caine out of sight of other members, for checking his mental health and keeping an eye on his mental state. However, he's also very secretive and bashful, and hardly talks of his feelings or himself if none asked to him. He also doesn't like to talk about his love for Caine to others, afraid it causes conflicts into the group.

This situation causes him to consider himself like an guardian for Caine and members' mental health. Caring, he tries his best to keep everyone sane, and when a member is abstracting, Glitter feels a huge distress, and considers he failed at his duty. He's very determined to keep this goal, And despite he can be depicted like wanting to keep the group together, he can be more individualist at some moments. For example, even though he really likes other members, Caine is his absolute priority, and will do all in his power to protect him, if one day things are going too far. Also, If someone tries to mess up with him, he can be very harsh with the person, to the point he won't hesitate to resort to physical violence.

BACKGROUND :

Before his arrival in the Amazing Digital Circus, Glitter was an ordinary human with another name who was born in a pretty normal family. This one was not abusive or terrible, but was absolutely boring from his own words. As soon as he turned 18, he joined the army of his country. He was at this moment a soldier working on battlefield, and joined many conflicts across the world during few years. He describes this period as his best of his life, adrenalin and new thrills making him overexcited.

However, he's heavily injured at his spine during one of his missions. He was permanently discharged of his work as a soldier. He asks for another work in office in the army, but his request is rejected, explained by a lack of vacant positions. He receives at this point a little pension from the army for invalidity, he considers himself not enough to survive.

With time and sport, he starts to partially recover from his wound. However, he does a lot of boring and uninteresting odd jobs for surviving meanwhile. He especially lists he has previously worked as a cleaning man, a janitor or a museum guard. But all these works didn't give him the adrenalin he was used to have as a soldier, finding them uninteresting and meaningless. With the time, his mental health starts to decline, giving him depression symptoms. 

Trying to get adrenalin when he could, the man started to try a lot of various activities, as long it was consistent with his spine injury. The last one he tried was urbex, an activity who caught his interest, due to excitement and little thrills it gave to him. One day he was practising this activity, he entered in an old and abandoned building, who seemed to get into a computer company. He found at a certain floor a headset, who seemed to be still functional, and connected to a mysterious computer. Curious, he tried them, and entered at the Digital Circus.

POWER AND ABILITIES :

• Digital physiology : Glitter is one of the trapped humans inside the digital world with his consciousness piloting a digital avatar. Because of this, he can perform abilities that are outside of the general range of normal human capabilities.
• Immortality :  Because there is no conceivable way to die within the digital world and the fact that Caine cannot control the minds of those who are trapped within, there is currently no way that any of the human characters can or will die, including Glitter. With the closest alternative being "Abstraction".
• Invulnerability : Nothing in the digital world can cause life long lasting damage to Glitter in the amazing digital circus. He already survived multiple scenarios that would certainly kill any normal human, and always recovered without any scars, marks or consequences on his health.
• Self-Sustenance : Glitter, along with his other fellow humans, doesn't need to eat, sleep or drink. However, he can still choose to do these actions if he chooses.
• Blinking body : When holding his breath, Glitter's body, face and hair start to blink, and take very quickly the color of the other side. For example, the lavender part of his hair becomes white, then lavender... And vice-versa for the white part of his hair. 
• Sharpshooter : Glitter due to his military background, shows an impressive efficiency with guns and firearms. He's very good at aiming, and knows how to smartly manage his ammunitions. He also knows his mastering of bullets physics, knowing how bullets ricochets, their approximative paths, and how it interacts with differents matters it touches.
• Abnormal strength : Glitter has shown numerous times an important physical strength and knowledge of martial arts. He's able to defeat hostile NPCs with bare hands, quickly and effectivly neutralizing them. He's also able to break obstacles with barely a high kick.
• Song skills : Glitter already proved he was a very good singer, mostly for opera songs. However, he confesses he taught himself, and doesn't sing very often in public.

RELATIONSHIPS :

Caine : Glitter is absolutely obsessed with Caine, bearing a real tenderness and passion for him,. He's always wondered if it was love, but never went further, because he considered to look for this answer was useless, not especially waiting for anything in return from Caine. He feels very grateful to everything Caine did for him and other circus members, and especially for getting him out of his boring life and his depression. He frequently looks after him for discussing and spending time with him, and is always kind of excited when he spawns in front of him and other members, even though he tries to hide it. He's also often worried about Caine's mental stability, even if he's perfectly aware of his AI nature. This worry increases each time Caine doubts about his adventures, or when he's in conflict with Zooble. Then, Glitter is able to look after him and be very kind and sweet with him, doing without hesitation physical interactions with him, like kind words or hugs, hoping it would comfort him in a way or another. Until now, Glitter hasn't officially revealed to the other cast members his " love " for Caine, even though some are suspicious about that. However, he's very clear with him, and despite he really likes cast members, Caine is first in his priorities. If one day, he has to take a side, he has already made a choice, and will use all his physical and mental abilities to defend his ideals.

Pomni : Glitter has a friendly relationship with Pomni. He felt her despair as soon as she arrived in the digital circus, and at this moment, he decided to keep a big brother role for her. He's very zealous on that, and is very attentive to help her to find her bearings into her new home, and is very attentive to her behaviour, for predicting in a way or another a possible abstraction. He's also always happy to answer to any of her question. Nevertheless, he struggles to understand the obsession she had for a while with an exit door, not getting what's wrong with the circus, at the point she wants to leave.

Jax : Glitter has a tense relationship with Jax. He doesn't like especially his habit to mess up with other members of the cast. Ignoring the fact it's very annoying for everyone, he doesn't know if that's very beneficial for the dynamic of the group. At the same time, he creates tension, and alliance between people against him. When Jax tries to personally annoys Glitter, this last clearly states to him he will use drastic methods if he goes farther. If Jax ignores his threats, Glitter will use violence, by physical hits or throwing him objects of the circus on him. Usually, it calms down Jax, but Glitter always keeps an eye on him.

Ragatha : Glitter really appreciates Ragatha, especially for her positivity about the circus and adventures. However, he understands that's a facade, and she keeps her most negative feelings into her. But Ragatha not asking any advices to Glitter discourages him to comfort her or help her with her insecurities. He likes to hang around with her, and have interest into her softball hobby, and often offers her to practise this sport with her, being a sport lover in the real world.

Gangle : Glitter has a huge soft spot for Gangle, especially for the similarity of their faces/masks. He finds it funny to have the common point. He's softened by her personnality, and has a lot of interests into her drawings and others hobbies. He asks her a lot of questions, very curious to learn more about her passions. He acts with her like a kind older brother, and always tries to comfort her when her comedy mask is broken. 

Zooble : Glitter has a complicated relationship with Zooble.  He doesn't like in particular Zooble's frequent antagonizations towards Caine. Even though he accepts the fact they don't appreciate Caine's adventures, he's very irritated by the way they're trashtalking Caine in front of this one. He noticed Caine's annoyment towards them, and Glitter is very worried about how it can affect Caine's mental health. All of that leads him to be very mistrustful towards them. However, he never does any remark to them, afraid to cause more and more conflict about that, and just tries to change the subject or convince Zooble to have a more positive point of view.

Kinger : Glitter has a lot of affection for Kinger. He has great affection for him, feeling the need to protect him from his own madness. He always talks with him and about him with kindness, and is very sweet with him. Sometimes, his unpredictable behaviour makes him laugh, but never in a mean way. However, sometimes, he doesn't get everything Kinger says, but Glitter doesn't take it too serious. He sees him like an old person who needs to be taken care of, and so is very attentive to him and his needs.

Bubble : Glitter is kind of amused by Caine's assistant, and really appreciates him. He likes the fact he's always in a way or an another at Caine's side, giving him some company. He's also very amused by his strange personnality and interactions with Caine, and is never able to shame Bubble when he annoys Caine. However, he doesn't like at all when he's swearing, and so becomes very kind of confused when he does so. He usually can't proceed the fact a round and cute thing like Bubble can swear like an old man.

The Moon : Glitter feels kind of awkward when the moon is around. Her obsession for Caine ironically puts Glitter in a situation he's not used to, and doesn't know if he can freely talk to his own adoration for him to her or not. He locates his feelings towards her between " a friendly jealousy " and " a sweet relief ". He appreciates to know Caine has at least one another ally, even if that's a NPC.

TRIVIA :

• He's 179cm.
• He's bisexual.
• He's 28 years old.
• He chose himself his name when he arrived in the digital world. However, he didn't saw his full appareance at this moment, and thought, when seeing his clothes the best he could, he was covered with sparkles. So, he asked to be called Glitter. He realized his error later when he saw himself into a mirror, but decided to keep this name.
