BACKGROUND
Shouya is a dance major at Blueridge University. His keen sense of detail and high work drive landed him a scholarship he intends on taking seriously, if not for the fact that his life seems to unfold like a teen drama. He has three friends, two days off a week, and one precocious younger sister.
ABOUT
If there were one thing Shouya would jump at the chance to do, it would be to move to a different country, change his name, and start completely from scratch. Blueridge is the most boring town on earth, and while he's not a particularly thrill-seeking person, at least a little bit of commotion would be fun. That's what he said before God put him through the harrowing trials also known as his early twenties.
College gave him an opportunity to fully realize his potential with tools he didn't previously have. And a full scholarship is possibly the biggest "hey guys I'm good at this" flag you could put on yourself. Amidst his efforts to prove his worth, however, are mountains upon mountains of people problems he just can't seem to navigate.

The bane of his days and the light at the end of his tunnel. Shouya thinks, talks, grumbles about Archie more than he'd care to admit. The constant push and pull provides some much (un)needed emotional pressure in his life. He'll probably die before they manage to put a name to whatever it is they have going on.

Shouya's teen years were riddled with angst. Unfortunately there is still one living witness of it—and even more unfortunate, they've somehow ended up at the same university in the same small town. It's crazy how much time can change people, but not the way you feel about them. Which is to say: She's still very pretty. She doesn't seem to hold him in very high regards though. Fair enough.
