| you separate yourself from all that is good. the burden of a two-sided conscience has become too much to bear; you long to be free of that which can only bring you down. distance yourself from the innate dual nature of every being in the world. it's not easy, but you manage to slip away, creating something entirely new for yourself. at first, it's confusing; something feels missing, but you teach yourself to forget it. before long, that other half was never there. only you, and what you can do now that you're free. you had potential before, but no way to let it run free. now you can feel the power flowing through your body, rushing through your veins and giving a rush you've never felt before. you feel alive. | time passes. you make a name for yourself, create an identity reserved for you and only you. it makes you feel good; surely a being as powerful and beautiful as yourself deserves individuality. a personality comes naturally; it's one of the only things you don't have to create. your sword is your new best friend; demons and humans alike fall victim to your enthusiastic blade. eventually, you turn the focus of your sword solely to demons; those pesky creatures are everywhere, and aren't you supposed to be a human now? at some point you encounter a wild human while you're slaying demons in the scarred wasteland; her viciousness and power intrigue you, so you take her in and adopt her. it's just you and her against the world, and that's enough to keep you entertained for the next millennia or so. |
