PERSONALITY

An honest rabbit who tries to keep the peace between others as best as she can. Ash-rah takes everything seriously, no matter how trivial. While others may brush something off as nothing to worry about, Ash-rah will worry about it until she's certain about it. She's confident in meeting others, usually acting brave and knowledgeable when meeting with other warrens; scared of making her warren look like an easy target. Relationships are important to her and she puts in her best effort to get to know each rabbit in the warren very well. She might tire herself out maintaining or fixing friendships, but it's worth it in her opinion. With a curious nature, she wants to explore and learn as much as she can.

Due to being new to the wilderness, she is rather paranoid and inexperienced. She often gets upset about making decisions as leader, feeling she isn't the one who should be taking charge. Many times she thinks about running back to her original home, but she couldn't leave her warren behind. This doe struggles to hide her feelings, but she'd rather seek comfort in her mate than hold it in anyway. She's a little forgetful but can remember things after they're repeated enough; for example, when learning about a new plant, she needs someone else to confirm what she knows about it a few times. Naturally, she also forgets favours others ask of her unless they're incredibly important or urgent.

Bracken found Ash-rah when he was roaming as a Hlessi, looking for a place to call home. Ash-rah had recently settled into the area after escaping from her life as a pet. Bracken tried to kick her out of her small burrow, seeing that she was much weaker than him. She begged him to leave her alone and told him that she wasn't looking for a fight. Defeated, Ash-rah moped around the burrow for a few hours, unsure of what to do as she was so naive. Bracken felt pity knowing that she wouldn't survive much longer on her own, so he invited her back in. After apologising and telling stories of their past, Ash-rah insisted that he should be the Rah with his experience, but he insisted that this was her home first. Truth was, he was a young buck and too scared to take that responsibility. Bracken has taught her how to survive, though she still needs to work on some skills. They later decided to lead together as mates; Ash-rah is the decision maker and Bracken does most of the hard work around the warren. He's there to offer reassurance when Ash-rah is upset about not knowing what a wild rabbit would do in her situation. They love to cuddle up to each other, Ash-rah being a bit clingy due to her history as a pet. Sometimes they joke about each other, like how Bracken is a 'ferocious wild animal', but neither of them mean it. Aah-rah is always interested in whatever Bracken is doing, whether it's digging out new burrows or collecting herbs; she tends to follow him around like his shadow.

STORY

Ash-rah was originally a house rabbit, purchased from a pet shop. She was the pet of a small child who lived on a farm. Her life as a pet was quite comfortable; she loved her gentle owner and was happy to do nearly anything they wanted, including being dressed up. Her life was fairly average with no real events of note. One time her owner bathed her, thinking it would be cute, but Ash-rah was terrified and has since developed a phobia of swimming. Her easy life as a pet ended suddenly. She and her owner were in the fields around the farm like they always had done, when the child left Ash-rah alone to grab a drink from inside. A large bird flew overhead, spooking Ash-rah. Normally she would run to her owner for cover. She bolted for the house when the bird swooped down, but it cut her off. In her panic, she turned and ran through the fields and into the woods. The bird lost her but she carried on running until she was couldn't run anymore. Lost in the misty woods, Ash-rah had no sense of direction. Overwhelmed and in shock, she settled down and tried to calm down.

She spent days trying to find her way home. Every sound in the woods frightened her, making her flee in a blind panic. She found herself away from resources like food and water. So when she found them again, she made sure to dig out a small home for herself. Her burrow was found by a lone buck, Bracken. He fought her and kicked her out, taking the burrow for himself. Ash-rah was broken. She was lost and alone. Sure that she would never make it home or survive, she sat outside, motionless, and accepted her fate. The young buck took pity on her and took her back in. Ash-rah didn't tell him about her home, instead saying she was a rabbit from a far away warren who never had to fend for herself.  Her warren was raided and the rabbits scattered, leaving her lost here. Bracken took her word for it and taught her how to survive. He assumed her to be leader, having founded the small burrow. They became mates after developing a close relationship, starting the Warren of Mistwood. Ash-rah later told him about her pet life, though it didn't matter to him. For now, Ash-rah is happy to stay in the wild with her mate.
