| Personality | Vincent keeps a calm and collected appearance, and despite his hospitality, often comes off as aloof, dry, and perhaps condescending. The truth is, he does not know very much, and is trying to hide it and compensate for it by acting like he knows a normal amount. Thanks to the imbalances in his family growing up, he is resentful of power structures and his place at ‘the bottom of the top,’ where he has to bend to the will of wealthy men while still holding power over others in the city. After several near-death experiences, he has stopped caring so much what others think, becoming more open in expressing himself and speaking up more. He can be pretty snarky at times. On top of that, he is an introvert with a strong fear of being hurt. He kept others out of his life in fear of being abandoned or mistreated again, and does everything he can to avoid being a burden. He has been trying to get over this. After going too long without being alone, he becomes incredibly irritable; he just wants to listen to his niche, grating outsider music without being judged. He keeps on-top of his needs with a rigid schedule that comes naturally to him, so you would be unlikely to catch him tired or unkempt in any way, when he is in his element. In the same vein, he does not like to get messy or tire himself out prematurely. | |
| History | Son of the last-born, Vincent is at the bottom of the Wyndham hierarchy, and grew up in abject terror of his uncle, who forced his mother to abandon him, which allowed his grandfather to raise him to be his personal caretaker. He coped with this and the remaining trauma through music and art. His relaxation habits were cut off with the power, and the pressure to keep Wilfred from having a tantrum sent him into the wild, where the Venn diagram of his skills and the skills necessary were basically two uneclipsed circles. He fell off of a cliff, and nearly shattered his skeleton, but met Opal soon after, for whom he fell hard, and befriended many of his travel companions. He soon met the maternal side of his (still largely abusive) family, learned he may have a fatal genetic disease, and had a huge fight with his cousins and emotional breakdown.
