When humanity was first attacked by the monsters, it took a long time for them to recover their labs and technology by bitter warfare. It took them even longer to begin work on experiments to create a hybrid between a monster and a human in order to use the monsters own natural affinity with electric power against them. Many attempts and prototypes later, Amp and Reverb were created, beings that could utilise the power of the monsters whilst remaining stable enough to fight on the side of humanity.
Amp and Reverb had very little of any kind of childhood, their upbringings simply used as opportunities to test and train them to become the ideal heroes.
When they reached a point of peak skill and appeared fully grown (as they aged slowly from the spliced DNA) Amp and Reverb were revealed to the world, pushing forward againt the monsters as humanities saviours, fighting back against their oppressors.
Now, Amp and Reverb fight against the monsters whilst struggling with the idea of their creation. Should they really fight these monsters if they're part monster themselves? Where should their allegiance lie? Amp and Reverb decided they can only really trust each other, sticking close to each other.
