Hyena

Hyena was named so, less for his coloration, and more due to his behavior- he's a very nervous fellow, and has a habit of giggling when worried, scared, startled, etc. This has given him a bit of an unfortunate reputation, as he'll often started giggling in very inappropriate situations (there's been many times he's burst out laughing at the sight of someone being injured, even though in reality he's terrified for them). And of course, he has social anxiety to boot- so when folks around him inevitably get upset at him for laughing, he begins to panic even more (and thus laugh even more).

This has led to him isolating himself greatly- he only really spends time with a small, close group of friends whom he knows won't get upset at him for his panic-giggles (and since he doesn't need to worry as much around them, he's less prone to going into a panic anyway). He spends a lot of his spare time making puzzle books- he enjoys making crosswords, wordsearches, sudokus, and other sorts of written puzzles.

Whenever he makes enough of them, he gathers them up and sends them to a publisher, and they're then distributed out across the lands. Most of his friends were met through these puzzle books- folks will reach out through letters to tell him how they enjoyed his puzzles, and occasionally a friendship will fform after sending letters back and forth for a while.
