Mae Spring
NN: Mae
RACE: Peryton
DOB: September
PRONOUNS: She/Her
AGE: Young Adult
HEIGHT: Average
Once upon a time, Mae was born into a large, magical family. Both her parents had a magical ability of their own. Although Mae was rare, being born with magic rather than unlocking it later in life, she did her best to stand out among other siblings who were also born with magic. Mae had the magical ability to manipulate the gravity of objects. So, when she was old enough to start mining with others in Peryton Territory, she used her magic, too much of it, and everything she had hovering in the mines fell at once. There were some injuries, and despite Mae meeting Jack during all the chaos during the accident, the accident put further strain on Mae and her relationship with her family. She already felt some distance between her and the rest of her family, but the accident that was Mae's fault confirmed that the distance was there and getting worse.
When Jack met Mae, it was during the accident in the mines that was Mae's fault. Jack wanted to help Mae, since in a way she helped him unlock his magical ability. So the 2 of them became very close and Mae decided to make up for the accident she caused by expanding Peryton Territory. She explained to Jack that their retired mines can be refurnished into new homes for those in Peryton Territory. Jack disagreed at first, thinking Mae’s idea was unsafe. Mae talked Jack into the idea, so in the end he chose to support her instead. Despite being successful at the start, successful enough for homes to be filled, the homes collapsed and more were injured. Then Jesper, the leader of Peryton Territory, has both Jack and Mae come to see him. When they do, Jesper tells them he will be attacking Unicorn Territory, and he needs their help for his plan. When the time comes for Peryton Territory to attack Unicorn Territory, Jesper begins his plan. Jack was able to use his magical ability to carve trees into giant spears. Mae then used her magical ability to make these giant spears light enough to carry and push above Unicorn Territory, where she simply dropped them on top of structures. Peryton Territory was winning the battle when Mika Wish swooped in and used her magic on their giant wooden spears, causing Peryton Territory to lose and Unicorn Territory to win. Although defeated, Mae proposes a plan where she and Jack can create floating islands. This way Peryton Territory can still expand, within its own land. Jesper likes Mae and her new idea, and decides to step down and make Mae leader of Peryton Territory. Jack believes this is a bad idea, and tells Mae that her decision making worsens the more she uses her magic. Jack will not support Mae's idea this time. Mae exiles Jack from Peryton Territory.
