Rafe (FrostPrism)

Some Spoilers from KH3 are present here, just as a warning
-FrostPrism is the shipname for the pairing of Rafe and Vexen/Even I have no self control okay this was supposed to be a joke. Shipname is probably going to be subject to change
-Rafe calls Even 'Green-eyes' or 'Bright-eyes' nearly all the time. It started off as a way to mess with Even, but now it's more of a very affectionate nickname on Rafe's part. He doesn't really use it when in company since he knows that Even's ego wouldn't like it, but will almost always use one of them instead of his name when talking to him personally. It somewhat confuses Even since it's longer than his actual name.
-Even didn’t think much of Rafe at first, until he tried to outsmart Rafe and this guy actually matched him? And knew what he was talking about??? What was this??
-Somewhat confused he popped up a couple of other times at the studio, trying to figure out what was going on with Rafe. Rafe thought it was actually amusing and thought Even was kind of fun to have around, so actually welcomed him each time he showed up.
-Even might have been just a tiny bit concerned when he showed up a couple of times and Rafe wasn’t in the studio? Or the shop? Where was the idiot? Had something happened. Actually asked around for once but people weren’t sure where he was, and just said he was sick. This...didn’t actually comfort Even, especially since he had no idea why he even cared when he had much more important things to do. Ask where he actually lived? He didn’t want Rafe to actually know he had been asking people.
-Spoilers, Rafe found anyway.
”I just had a cold, sorry if I worried you?”
”Who said anything about me being worried!?”
-But doesn’t protest when Rafe actually tells him where he lives.
-Eventually meets all of Rafe’s cats, which he claims to despises because they’re messy little creatures that keep getting fur all over his lab coat, of course they belong to Rafe. Also claims that the hairless cats are ‘disturbing’ and finds Rafe’s sweaters for them completely incomprehensible.
-Yet when one of said hairless cats gets out and Even finds it wandering around, he picks it up and takes it back to Rafe personally. Was lecturing the cat for being an idiot as he walked, only to realize he was being watched and then pretended he had never said anything.
-And no he was not worried about the cat, what are you talking about Rafe he was just being logical since that creature clearly wasn’t made to survive outside for long.
-Look this might or might not be the point that Rafe started to feel something for the scientist.
- One day when Even accidentally stayed late arguing at Rafe over something: “Hey, it’s late. Want me to get dinner with me?”
“You don’t have to repay me just for bringing back your pet.”
“...I wasn’t? I kind of just wanted to ask you out to dinner?”
“What? Why?”
-Even spent so much time studying the metaphysical heart that he forgot about feelings and has no idea what is going on here. None of this is logical. He has no reason to be around Rafe. Friends? Why does everyone say they’re friends?
-Gets so annoyed at Rafe’s treatment of his books that he helps him organize his house once. It’s actually? Kind of fun?
-What is their relationship? Who knows, they certainly don’t.
-Lots of coffee semi-dates. Or at least somehow they started meeting up to have coffee fairly regularly. Sometimes it's at a cafe or something, but sometimes it's just Rafe making it as they hang around his shop/house. Even secretly looks forward to the ones at Rafe's place the most, even though objectively the coffee from the cafe tastes better, some how it's more calming. Rafe doesn't mind if Even happens to bring Ienzo with him later on either.
-Even hates the names Rafe gives his cats, and that is the reason he just calls them 'those things' or 'the cat'
"I still don't understand why you named your cat 'Tids'
"I didn't? Her names is Miss Tiddlywinks, but that's kind of a pain in the ass to say."
"I refuse to call her'Miss Tiddlywinks!"
-Seriously, Even will grumble about Rafe being a fool and having far to many pets while sitting on his couch petting one of the cats.
-Rafe has no idea what happened with Even after Radiant Garden is destroyed, or even if he’s alive and it freaks him out. He keeps wondering if he should have done something more since he realized that Even was getting dangerously obsessed with something? But couldn’t get him to talk about it? And there was an actual argument then they stopped talking to each other?
-Just kind of realizes that Even became part of what he considers his home without either of them noticing, and how it's gone and he has a really hard time dealing with that.
-Never actually meets Vexen, though he swore once he saw Even walking down a street, but when he went to chase after him, there was no one there.
-Aeleus and Dilan finds him when looking for Even after they’re all recompleted. They thought that in his unstable state Even might have gone looking for someone familiar. When he hears that Even is alive, Rafe immediately insists on helping with the search.
-Look when he sees Even again, Rafe is just “You’re alive!” and Even is “y..Yes?”
-There might be a hug and yelling and awkward back-pats.
-Rafe was near panic when he heard about why exactly Even had gone back to the Orginzation. Ansem the Wise came back first and he had no idea where Even was during all this. Despite being told that Even had a plan to get out, it really did not help.
-It just made the relief when he sees Even again, and alive and realatively okay that much greater. He actually fusses a bit over Even for the next couple of weeks, something Even doesn't know how to deal with.
-Look Even might be slightly willing to admit there are some nice feelings here but has no idea how to deal with them.
-Just, feelings are complicated and sometimes the stuff with Rafe brings up really strong emotions. And suddenly he's in a position where he actually has time to process those feelings and actually consider them.
-Even is actually kind of hurt that Rafe didn't tell him about the whole keyblade wielder part of his past, even though he knows it's techinically not his business.
-For his part Rafe has had a long time to think about what he wants, and he's decided that he wants Even to know that he's happy he's there, and maybe wants to keep him close.
-Look Rafe is starting to actually try to flirt and Even is just '????' about this because this is new and wft Rafe.
-Even is also hoping that no one else that actually knows him notices because plz he doesn't not want to deal witht he comments.
-At the same time Even isn't actually objecting to it? Rafe has somehow become a safe place for him, and he wants this. He just isn't sure how to respond to it at first, since it's been a long time he had time to really settle down and acknowlege his own emotions.
-Even's actually the one that yanks Rafe into a kiss once they finally start an actual conversation about what their relationship was. It caught Rafe completely off-guard, but he was just over-the-moon happy.
-They aren't really into PDA, though Rafe is more openly affectionate than Even. Around friends both of them are close with Rafe isn't afraid to just lean on Even or play with his hair. Even starts relaxing a bit too after getting used to the affection, and stops caring about Rafe using his nickname as much.
-Even stays over at Rafe's place sometimes, and would probably do it more often if he didn't get teased about it by certain people.
-Rafe has a chill personality in general, and tends to judge people's action more than their words. It's why he seems to be perfectly comfortable with Even, and knows when his words are just bluster.
