Sakae

Sakae had a horrible childhood, there's no easier way to say it. As a foster child, she never felt like a part of any family, and she wasn't ever treated like it either. Several of her foster parents and siblings physically and verbally abused her. Eventually, the pain of it became too much for her, and at 17, she ran away, hopping from train to train until she was far enough away that no one could come find her. Eventually, she was found, but not by any of her foster families. She was found by a member of a mysterious secret society, who let her stay with him for a while because she had nowhere else to go. Eventually, they became roommates and then fell in love. Sakae became obsessively dependent on this person, who she only calls by the nickname she gave him, because he was the first person who ever made her happy. The way she constantly obsesses over him, some people think he's not even real. But he is, and she's just happily in love. You often hear her mentioning him, obsessing over how he could solve every problem she has.

Michi is a member of the assassin group known as the PM Alliance. He found Sakae when she was a little runaway, hiding in the PM Alliance's secret meeting spot, not knowing where she was. He took her home to stay with him for a while because she had no home and barely any possessions, and helped her get back on her feet. She eventually became physically healthy enough to go out and get a job as a waitress. However, she faced a lot of sexual harassment on the job. When she confided in Michi about this, he became so furious that he blew up the café she worked at. He got her a job as a secretary at the PM Alliance's official headquarters, where she can see her boyfriend all the time and also guards important documents using her powers, which she will instantly use on anyone she doesn't trust. She also met her first and best friend, Tazawa, at her new job.
